hey guys I got a 2 month used S8 for Rs 37000 (570$). I know if i take care of the mobile it can last 3-4 more years and then when I go in used market for the latest Galaxy phone I would have to spend around Rs 40000 (615$). So thats roughly 800 to 1100 Rs per month based on 3-4 years of usage.
What I was thinking is if I sell my mobile after using for 1 year i would still fetch somewhere around 20-25K and I have to put 10-12K more for next used Galaxy (mostly S9) and in this way I can have almost new phones every year and all the galaxy flagships.
What do you think do any of you do this or you all keep your phone for as long as possible.

Permanent screen burn from the clock, an... moreYou must've had some bad luck getting a faulty unit since mine is going strong after 1 year of continuous usage but i do not use AOD since i knew that could result in burn int since the screen is amoled. Bixby button doesn't bother me at all and battery life is more than on some devices and lasts me a whole day plus with fast charge it doesn't really matter since half an hour on the charger and i have over 30%. Like i said i've been using it for 1 year and didn't notice any slow downs even before i updated to oreo and did a hard reset which actually improved the speed of the device and now it feels buttery smooth with 0 hangs. I had the S7 before the S8 and the only thing i'm missing is the front fingerprint scanner and aspect ratio but i don't mind the S8 at all especially in terms of performance. Maybe you were just unlucky and got a faulty device.

Hated this phone.
Permanent screen burn from the clock, and I didn't have always on display activated.
Stupid dedicated bixby button that you can't change.
Horrible battery life, absolutely useless for work.
Slowed down after 3 months. S7 was much better.

john, 08 Mar 2018no is not this my experience after the update my battery is... moreI have 0 problems with my german S8 after the oreo update. Did you do a HARD REST and CACHE CLEAR before and AFTER you updated your device ? If not then there's your problem but if yes then it must be some app that is acting up with the new update. Like i said i have over 30 apps on mine not including around 40 oculus gear vr games and haven't had soo much as a problem on my S8.

Bb, 09 Mar 2018Should i update to android 8.0 it is good?It's all good AS LONG as you do a hard rest before and after you upgrade your device, it is a pain in the ass and it will take you hours to reinstall all your apps but it's worth it since afterwards everything will run like new. Been using Oreo since it released and so far i've had 0 problems and battery life is pretty much the same.

danielle, 09 Mar 2018Can you tell me difference between s8 and s7 edge? any much... moreI went from a normal S7 to an S8 and i can tell you that the difference is minimal at best, in terms of usage the S7 was more practical with the front fingerprint scanner and i miss the 16:9 ratio of the S7. If you plan on ditching your S7 then you should totally skip the S8 and go for the S9 because you won't see any new improvements between the S7 and S8 since they're almost the same identical device performance and feature wise but in a different body. Get the S9 if you want to change.
