You are well within your rights to get a replacement so that you can enjoy this fantastic phone. I know you will be a bit frustrated that this has happened and I hope you realise that you have just been unlucky on this occasion.

Brought S8 on October 3rd. Great look and feel.
But today morning onwards NO DISPLAY. Phone is on, but no DISPLAY. Don't know what happened.

For long term use, sony and if want to change your phone about 2 years and less samsung because sony's battery degraded very slow(xz series and above), the heating problem has been resolved since xz series,lag free, good updates(now xz1 and xz1 compact have been included in open devices programme), great battery life(xz series and above), great video stabilisation and have great built quality. For Samsung, great design, great display(sony has high quality ips lcd tho than the other companies), great battery life but degrades very fast in 1 year(i hope samsung can make the battery less degraded like sony did), easy to find accessories for samsung phones espacially the flagship phones, great camera(sony too), efficient chipset(exynoss version) and good value to buy their flagship phones after 5 months or more because the prices will drop dramatically.

It's like no android phones with great optimisation. Example, sony, htc and pixel.

However, the fingerprint feels odd during the first few days, later you will be used to. Not a big deal. Do further research on V30 P-OLED screen before buying it.

Hi guys, I am in need of a new phone. Currently I own an LG G3 and I have been using it for 2.5 years now. I was initially more inclined towards LG G6. But now I am confused between S8 and V30 (G6 is out of question coz of LCD screen, I need AMOLED or OLED screen phone).
The only thing that is bothering me regarding s8 is the fingerprint sensor position. Guys can anyone tell me - is the position of Fingerprint sensor bad or ok? How long will it take me to get used to that sensor position?

i bought an original qi wireless charger and the cable and the charger are original samsung us type-c and the fast wirreles load takes 2 hours and 38 minutes ... it's a bug or a limitation of the software at the old s7 edge, an hour and 30 were ready and had a bigger battery, Samung would have to test all of his equipment first and then launch hundreds of phones in the chase after profit, it is very disturbing to spend so much money and the result is zero

If the vertical red line issue of s6 edge s7 edge will continue with s8 and s8+ then the great era of samsung s edge phones will be dawn also, no one will trust samsung again! Soooo many people will choose different brend...more likely be iphone. Who loves android will be sony and htc.

I would like to defend the position of the fingerprint scanner as I don't find it awkward at all, I love it and would be really dissapointed if Samsung decided to place it on the front now (without placing one on front also) I use a folio case and it works perfectly with it. I can have the phone unlocked before it's out of my pocket. It has just become second nature to me.
It's good to have a few options to unlock the phone and I even find BIXBY quite cool doing this too.

You have forgotten about Nokia who introduced 41MP camera to a phone way back in 2012.
I use iris scanner regularly (and because the fingerprint scanner is in an awkward location). It's super fast and it unlocks your phone even in pitch black darkness.
About face recognition, don't forget the "ho ho ho" moment in the iPhoneX launch day where it failed. Why don't you enlighten us about it?
Using a wireless charger will be gimmick to iPhone users, as usual (unless they use it). When Apple chosed to "copy" wireless charging, why don't you say anything? Too lazy to say anything, I recon.
Then again, at least Samsung includes fast charging in the box, we don't need to buy it like stupid people out there.
Last, but not least, Samsyng users are at least satisfied with their device, so they don't have time to go to other stupid phones' pages and write dumb things about them. Grow up. If you like your phone that much, be happy with it. Why do you care if I don't like it? I'm telling you why. Cause you're not satisfied with yours, so you try to make people believe that you are. Guess what, Samsung users don't go with the flow. Ciao...

No name, 07 Oct 2017Who soes use Iris scanner,Dex,Bixby or Bluetooth 5.0.And ho... moreI'm using all of them. Here's my opinion:
Iris scanner: I'm using it since day one. The first few days it was slow. But the more I use it, the accurate it gets. After five months, it just takes fraction of a second to recognise your iris.
PERSONAL HINT: from day one, don't open up your eyes and hold your phone in an angle that looks awkward, instead, hold the phone the way you normally hold it and DO NOT wide open your eyes, just look normally at it. I don't need to awkwardly looking at it in wide eyes and unfriendly location in front of your face.
DEx is good. It will definitely turn your boss's and colleagues' heads (mine does). But that's it. DEx needs a long way to go to replace your laptop or notebooks. But it works amazing with your Office® files (though you need to buy it). But otherwise it's not that much of an upgrade if you don't work in office.
Bixby is yet to be great. It is supposed to be native Assistant, but it can't do a thing without net connection - I hate it. I would love if it could work with the native apps (like opening cam, snapping a pic etc) without net. For details it could use net though.
I always use BT5.0 as my son wants my phone to play games and I want to hear music. I put him in wired handsfree and throw my songs in the BT speaker in another room. That works fine for us. I have also tried using two BT speakers in a party and it worked well.
BTW, my phone never froze, or had hiccups. It's very smooth with 200GB card, always on net, connected to FB, YouTube, mailboxes and many more apps on the background. I play Temple Run 2 and it is the most hungry game in my phone. So I can't tell you game performance. But camera is good and I've also taken under water pics and videos. They are great. Phone also warns if the ports are wet. Shooting pics and vids in the rain is very common for me.

Is there any sense to go for S8+ or S8 is... moreThere is not that much difference between S8 and S8+.S8+ has bigger screen than S8.S8+ has more battery than S8,But there is not much differnece in Battery life.It all depends on you.If u have big hands then S8+ can be used.But most people goes for S8 instead of S8+ cuz of many reasons like Fingerprint location,Grip,Etc.Btw I'm getting S8 too,Very happy.Good Luck to u.And also which ur thinking of getting?

Both are fantastic phones, best thing to do is to to go to a retailer and hold both in the hand before commiting to one or the other.
