I have been dealing with RAM since the days of 32 pin SIMMs. Nuff said.

Don't talk to me about a sensible opinion. Save those words for yourself.

When running apps are killed they don't always re-open because if I clear RAM using the Smart Manager the memory consumption gets less and it stays less for the most part and even if it increases it's not by a lot...certainly not to the high point it was before I ran the cleaner.

For the record Marshmallow is the best thing that happened to my S5 Octa-core. No lagging unless I have lots of apps and huge apps open and even then it doesn't always lag either regardless. 99.9% of the time apps doesn't close UNLESS I close them. My S5 have no heating issues and no memory draining issues and it charges all the way to 100% each and every time. My S5 is as perfect as can be.

[deleted post]Who speak about xperia? There are many superb phones and much better than this crap. HTC U11 is better example.

I have a S5 running M... moreIn addition to my S8, I also have a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE which is from the same era as your S5 and my tablet was a mess after the Android 6.0 update.. It would lag like hell sometimes, it would overheat and close apps, it would not charge past 74% etc etc... So that lag is not because of a low amount of free RAM, this is not Windows OS [the PC one], this is Android..
You don't have the faintest idea of what I'm talking about to form a sensible opinion, you should do your research and learn something instead of living in your illusion of knowledge..
Samsung includes an Optimiser which has the option to kill running apps... Not to clean your RAM.. It doesn't touch the OS background apps and services that are running and taking up space on the RAM.. On the S8's version of the Optimiser you can kill some of the background running processes and services but they just start right back up.. so you end up achieving nothing apart from draining your battery a tad bit by doing so...

I got the s8 exynos version and it's super fast couldn't be more happy with the device. This trolling about the device being super fragile is totally pathetic. The phone is as durable as any other device out there. If your worried about damaging the device get a case problem solved. But don't be put off by people (fanboys) who have no idea and have no intention of purchasing this great device. It is well built and there are a lot of videos putting the device through durability tests with a positive outcome. I use mine at work and have young kids who have gotten hold of my device and have been quite rough with it, that's good enough for me. Yes there may be a couple of devices that can open an app fraction off a second quicker but for what else the device offers like wireless charging, water resistance, excellent infinity display, good battery life, excellent camera and more the s8 stands out as one of the best made this year as agreed by most, if not all reviewers that have used this device. Hope this helps with people that have been put off by fake reviews and opinions of people that have not used the device.

Samsung Need to change Touchwiz, is the big problem in Samsung phone ..

S8 is the slowest phone of among snapdragon 835 phones and it also extremely fragile and is like a Beta testing phone with silly fingerprint sensor

I disagree with you. I have a S5 running Marhmallow and once the used RAM reaches 1.40, 1.45 or 1.50 there's a considerable lag. I always try to free RAM as much as possible using Smart Manager which usually result in my phone moving snappy. I don't buy that talk about unused RAM is wasted RAM. The more RAM that's free, the faster the overall speed is. After all, if unused RAM is wasted RAM why would Samsung included a RAM cleaner in Smart Manager. Why would they have also included a CLEAR RAM option in previous Galaxy phones dating back to the S1?

Clearly you people don't know how RAM is managed by Android... the readout of 1.6GB that you're seeing is the amount of RAM free at that moment... Android uses as much RAM as it requires to give you a snappy experience[I.e caching] so the amount of used RAM that your device is telling you is being used is not permanently occupied by the OS... When you open multiple applications that need more than the indicated free RAM available, your device frees up that space for your applications to utilise... So don't get worried by the fact that you have very little free RAM available because that readout is meaningless.... Unused RAM is wasted RAM in Android... 4GB is more than plenty

Just bought an S8 for 700 € including case, wireless charger and 2 screen protectors.
Love it, nice upgrade from my S6 edge. 64 Gb internal + 64 Gb card gives me 128 Gb, more than enough...Speaker is very loud too. Huge screen obviously very fragile, but i always take good care of my phones, even without any protection. Best phone at the moment.

                                        Hello Friends,
I have used most of the top Samsung phones and the latest was S8 + and S7 Edge Limited edition. Here is what I found: (No offence)

                                        1. Samsung does have the best screen resolution no one can beat, but they designed S8 + too sensitive and fragile. Even today its the same problem I ended up spending thousands for a screen guard. Back panel is very sensitive to scratches and can break very easily. Fingerprint sensor is placed like finding lost ring :). They should not design a phone like jewel. Samsung has made our life so difficult even after paying so much from our hard earned money.
                                        2. Phone is slippery and cannot be handled roughly.
                                        3. Aspect Ratio is very narrow and most of the wallpapers does not fit properly.
                                        4. Finger Print Sensor is of low quality as you can see lots of scratches after a week.
                                        5. Features are endless and I love the way it looks while playing games or movies.
                                        6. With technology they could have added rugged feel with phone design.

Hope they audit all reviews and come with new designs and innovations.
