Anonymous, 05 Aug 2016with all of the information you've provided you've forgotte... moreAhem. It seems that you do not understand my point of view. I said that it would be useless for usage EXCEPT for VR, but yet having a 4K phone for someone who won't even use VR, well it is just a waste of money, so this is why there should be variants like Sony did. That phone could cost you about 1300$+ and yet, paying an extra 200$ for the screen PLUS paying the content PLUS paying the Gear VR (or any aftermarket VR headset)...
Really what I could except is to have a S7-like phone but with an upgraded SoC and maybe 5 GB or RAM. Yet no apps got to use 3 GB of RAM by itself (except for VR) so 6 GB could be a waste of money. But really if you want VR, you could go for this phone, but I would wait up until great content is released, or that technology advances at a point that hardware costs falls, like it did years ago.

E... morewith all of the information you've provided you've forgotten to take one thing into consideration through your arrogance. this is magnified through vr which means the scale is different and therefore the density of pixels is non comparable. i hope that made it easier for your brain to digest :)

AnonD-558092, 29 Jul 2016A 4K resolution on such small screen is a waste of money. E... morethe 4k rez is necessary for the vr, since the screen is magnified by the lenses current screen resolutions arent adequate and you can really see it on the gear vr and s7

A 4K resolution on such small screen is a waste of money. Everyone knows human eye cannot detect more than 600 PPI (approximately) and this device is getting 800 PPI!!! With the Galaxy S7, QHD is more than enough, with his 520 PPI, you really need to get very close or use a VR headset to see the pixels. I would like to see a Galaxy Tab with such resolution. Maybe the Galaxy View....

I suggest that Samsung must boost its next S8 far because we all know that apple bring so much improvement on there iphones mentioning there S model that has the biggest improvement. Samsung must boost its own chipset in 80% or 90% cpu performance and great gpu for a higher framerate in gaming

They better add IR Blaster to Galaxy S8. That was one nifty piece of hardware on Galaxy S4 that should totally make a comeback.

AnonD-554612, 29 Jun 2016I will not buy another Samsung "flagship" phone until they ... moreI agree. I only upgraded from my S2 to the S4 6 months ago because the S2 finally broke but the S4 had my basic requirements of removable battery, Micro SD slot and good performance against its peers of the time. I was waiting for a significant leap forward and definitely welcome waterproofing as someone who has now been constantly traveling the world for more than 4 years and recently caught in a tropical downpour in the the amazon. Still using the S4 happy to have a thicker phone with larger removable battery and expandable memory slot. Also miss the radio in the S2. I change countries every 1 to 3 months and usually don't have internet access and not interested in extra bluetooth type add ons so would also welcome a inbuilt radio.

Don't forget this page is a collection of rumours and suppositions.. Best guess if you like..
The dimensions will be similar to s6/s7.. (to fit in VR). Higher resolution display also needed for VR. The battery size is suggested at 3000mah as the size of battery that fits inside the dimensions that as mentioned need to fit VR. The clues are already there you just gotta wait for a final product to confirm or deny any suspicions. Although I've seen comment that it will need quite a large amount of available RAM to adequately power a higher resolution display.
Dual pixel sensor technically has 24mp half of which deal with autofocus..

S-5 IS GREAT,.. s6, s7, note5, note7 all having no INFRA RED, FM, dedicated SD CARD SLOT, REMOVABLE BATTERY. Now samsung is doing the same in S8. Wonder what is the meaning for "flagship" models.
