I'm thinking of getting s9 in good condition for 93€ (96€ including delivery) and will custom rom it to one ui 6.1 for the latest app support. Screw paying for bad midrange devices samsung releases nowadays, when you can get such a gem, full of features for a very low price. 120hz is a gimmick, I prefer 2K screen, 4K recording support and headphone jack with dedicated microSD card slot. Small battery not a problem, since you can get a powerbank also. And I will avoid new flagships too, unless I find very good deals on them, but I'm sceptical about it.

I had the phone's back cracked and the power button dropped off. A cheap case made the phone like new. Battery is still great - I can watch couple of movies without recharging.

I had my S9 Dual SIM phone since about 2018 and is certainly the best phone I've ever owned, though other ones were cheapo. With the S9 I had no complaints and no faults and it's been used virtually every day since new. The camera is better quality than many phones and the settings enable the users to tweak up to maximum resolution etc.

Had my s9 since 2018. Only in the recent few weeks (March 2025) the glass back finally cracked. After hundreds of drops, rolls, and falls. Battery life is still decent though im sure having a nearly full storage doesn't help. Samsung was doing well... my only complaint is the edge screen seems to make it susceptible to damage, and the Bixby button is annoying. I love the headphone jack. They try to bring back flip phones while overlooking this absolute gold

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2024Samsung phones are good phones it depends on what you use y... moreSamsung used to be good, before they made it a google phone and added bixby. Took away your right to own the phone. I should be able to uninstall whatever I want. And I DON'T want Bixby or google deciding anything. Not what pics to delete, not what access I have to my own phone, and certainly not what apps I can and can't uninstall. So much bloatware/spyware on the S8 and it got worse on S9. And they got rid of the only two apps I actually use: samsung health (the version three upgrades ago) and calculator. And permissions...oh the permissions. I shouldn't have to go through 20 different methods of "No". I said no the first time, that means no. It doesn't mean make twenty different methods of accessing that same data and hope the user doesnt't notice. That is called fraud.

Truly last good s series by samsung. Last model to have iris, heart rate monitor, headphone jack, expandable storage, infinity display (brought back on s20), qhd on base model, variable aperture, good cpu and a good battery. Only thing I didn't like about this phone was the bixby button but aside from that this S9 was peak samsung design with it's nearly non-existent bezels that made it look like it was from the future and miles better than it's successor.
It's a shame the S10 removed all of the stuff that made the S9 stand out and pixel-fied it just for some mediocre budget/5G models that had bad exynos/snapdragon which both ruined the battery life or a screen that looked like it had dead pixels which was still stuck on 60Hz while Huawei was already on 120Hz.

I think S9s battery is usable when screen res switched to 720p. Then the battery life allows for longer usage time. Ultra wide camera would be a huge advantage for this model. Gets hot when playing wwt xd

Got mine off the girlfriend when she no longer wanted it - that was nearly 5 years ago. Don't know how long she had it. Starting to do some odd things, but faultless until this last 6 months

I bought this phone back in 2018 when it was new and it's still standing strong up to this day. I will not buy new phone because this beast does all I need.

Dang... Hard to upgrade to a 2023 2024 phone, mid range.android.. As they all have under clocked cpus lol :( Meanwhile my gal9+ 2.7ghz, performs very quick and fast and responsive in 2024, bought it when it was first released. Almost gives no reason to upgrade...
While others are at 2.2/1.8, 2.0 , etc mid range 2023 2024.. All i can say theya re stingy with clock speeds with any under 400$ phone.
