It's only been an year and half, and the display sometimes greying out. There is no damage on screen. I keep the phone very decently.

Also, Samsung released many updates which fixed many things there, so people can buy it. Even many phones which lagged, stopped lagging after Samsung's updates. Even when U bought the laggy phone a20e used, didnt lag at all. This shows how samsung is working on fixing its phones.

To get rid of the lag during loading of the webpages, I would recommend using Samsung Internet. Google Chrome's storage cache should be cleared now and then. Including Google app. Because with time, it causes lag. I have used Chrome for ages and now I dont use it anymore. You can try firefox or edge or brave instead.

Also I wouldnt recommend refurbished phones tbh. I ordered refurbished by Samsung itself and wasnt satisfied. I ordered Samsung a20e and found a few things that were worst.
The ear wax in the camera (dont really know how it went there), the delicate fingertouch sensor, the (hard to plug-in) charging port, sim tray that doesnt look original (it looks 3d printed), the back casing is delicate, where if you apply load on the back cover, you will find it bending inward. So I returned the phone.

I'm still using this phone to date, however i'll be upgrading to the pixel 6 pro (hopefully it arrives soon). This phone has been great for the past 3 years, but a few issues have plagued my experience lately. The battery life is terrible. If I use it heavily for 3 or 4 hours a day, I'll surely be below 10%. This wasn't always the case, but with the small battery, my poor charging habits, and always using the full resolution, it was bound to happen sooner or later. My only other complaint is the slowness and lag. This also only began relatively recently. Compared to newer phones, my s9 gets left in the dust when loading webpages and apps. And in the camera app, every time I try to record a 4k video there is a ton of lag when the video starts, to the point where it is unusable. Every other aspect of the camera is fine. This is just my experience with the s9, but I would recommend avoiding purchasing this device in late 2021 unless it is brand new. Save yourself from any issues and buy a refurbished galaxy s21 or s22, or if you can afford it a new one. The pixel 6 is also a great choice for $600.

Is samsung s9 still a good phone is 2021?And now that samsung is providing any software updates for this model, does it mean that the samsung s9 will just "die" in a few years?

I just wanna leave a comment. So, I've had this phone since January 2019 and my experience with it is great. The only two complaints I have is the short battery life and a not so fast fingerprint reader, but I must admit that the fingerprint reader still works fine and I still have the original battery and its capacity has not been reduced. It lasts me a full day of around 4 to 4 and a half hours of usage. I do not play a lot of games, I have however noticed that the phone battery drains pretty fast when playing games. I've never had any problems with this phone, it still works super smooth and when I compare it with newer midd-range phones, I'm still amazed by the good speaker quality and high resolution. Although my phone works perfectly fine, I was thinking of upgrading it to S21, but after looking at the specs, I was very disappointed, when I saw that it has a plastic back, low resolution and I know we are in the 2021 and the head phone jack has been a passé for some time now, i would still like to have it. I'm also not a fan of how big the majority of phones are these days. So all things considered, I am sticking with my S9 for at least a year, it really is an amazing phone.

Last year, I updated my phone with security patch ui 2.5. Since then I've been tormented with screen flickering. I decided this month to switch to Ultra Power Saver, just a try and error thing, since I was obsessed seeing my display flickering. I used this mode for 1 week , flickering stopped, I still continued to 2 weeks, I switched back to the optimised mode, since then no flickering, even with adaptive screen. I think an app was responsible for the previous flickering. Please can some tell me what app causes screen flickering so that I can uninstall or disable it??

Am planning to buy Samsung S9 is it good at playing call of duty mobile

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2021Worst phone ever why?

This phone deserves more love. It was one of the very last 'notchless' phones, yet it manages to have very slim top and bottom bezels. Very impressive for a phone without a notch.

This is the ideal phone design IMO: slim top and bottom bezels of equal proportions, accompanied with slightly curved waterfall edges.

Dont look at real HW specs, look better on XDA and find more optimised custom rom by good developers and higher android. Or buy Samsung s21 for 600€+ and worries from android version will be out for some time. In my case ill stay on S9 because XDA is more funny and for cash i will buy battery and save.
