I have the samsung s 2 t989 of t mobile, but i dont use t mobile sim card. I,m on an other network. T mobile backup comes on ever time so i stoped it. From app. I,m i doing good or no. And why there is no updates

This is m... moreWhether you are using gsm or cdma just go to settings >> mobile networks >> network modes and select one of them and dont let it be on auto or you will face the same problem i had same issue which is solved if network is gone after selecting preferred one dont panic just search mobile network and you are done enjoy calls ....

I have bought this cell phone and updated it to ICS and believe me it can't get better than this!!! Extremely beautiful display and sound and features and no problems so far and according to news, JELLY BEAN is coming in a month or two!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED :D

Good phone but no headset included. I tried to use my old Samsung Wave1 headset but the audio output is very bad. I don't know. Is it not compatible with this phone?
How's your headset music experience?

I've heard that it has a 4G LTE Network and it's not specified.....And one more thing,i want to know that whether the unlocked version of this phone would work with 3g european frequencies

I now have had this phone for a couple months and have been quite impressed despite the Galaxy S3 hype (great phone as well). With my T-Mobile S2 and the recent update to ICS, it still feels like a new phone despite how long it's been around.
I spent a few bucks on a fast 32GB class 10 MicroSD card, popped that card in and enjoyed the 48 GB (more like 38 in reality) of space for my apps, photos and just about everything else. I loved the more curved feel of this model compared to the similar model on AT&T which was a glossy black rectangle. One annoyance about the T-989 model was the change in camera placement which makes case shopping tough for some people who don't want to pay the premium price for accessories at a T-Mobile retailer (perhaps that is why that video on YouTube of a man trashing a London store showed up... I kid...)
Back to my experience, I found that I needed to replace my SIM card due to a system issue for WiFi calling to work properly with this phone. I wasn't charged for the replacement, but was curious until the rep explained it all. I live in a area with poor coverage and rely on that feature so I was happy to have that handled and avoid a return trip. So far, not a single dropped call via Comcast and out in the center of town, testing the speed of this phone was amazing. Faster than the average Starbucks hotspot for sure!
With the ICS update in place, I did a full factory reset post install and began re-installing my games, apps, etc., I was surprised as a few problems that showed up. The game Bejeweled on Google Play gave me a message that my phone wasn't compatible with the game despite the fact I had the same download on the same phone when running Gingerbread. Some other games had issues and some still have yet to see an update.
The largest issue I imagine is with this specific phone as Samsung had to switch to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (with the Adreno 220 GPU) for network compatibility. So while you gain the ability to reach the possible 42Mbps limit on the network, the desired Samsung Exynos chipset had to go.
Games still run very well in most situations but I did notice some slight stuttering from lightweight games such as Sonic CD to more demanding games such as Modern Combat 3 and NOVA 3. This same issue even showed while flipping through home screens or the oddest of all things that shouldn't happen with a 1.5Ghz dual core processor. Fire up your favorite live wallpaper and then start up the music player. The wallpaper skips and drops to a crawl! Quite embarrassing when considering my old HTC MyTouch 4G never skipped a beat under the same conditions. I tried this under a number of live wallpapers and just starting some music playback brought the phone to a crawl. On the other hand, Pandora or Slacker radio never showed this problem.
I hope for a last fix or two before Samsung (and T-Mobile) decide to drop this phone and move on.

Got this phone a month ago it awesome ,got official upgrade to ICS 4.0.3 also and till now facing no prob at all so smooth

This phone actually does NOT have gorilla glass. Every other version of the SGS2 does, but not T-mobile's...

I wonder if there will be a way to unlock the UMTS 900 band and the LTE radio.. since it radio can manage all UMTS bands and have LTE capacities..
