But four SoC generations later and of course the 2020 tablet is going to be much faster and better. There is really no comparison between the two. The 2020 Tab A7 runs circles around the 2016 Tab A.
I currently own three 2020 Tab A7 tablets and two 2020 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablets.
I actually like the lower end Tab A7 tablets over the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablets. Except for the fact that the Tab A7 tablets can't play back my HEVC content like my Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablets can.
But as far as the screen, none of them compare to my old Samsung OLED tablets I used to own. But for the price I paid out of pocket, $60 to $80 after trade in and sale price for my Tab A7 tablets, they were well worth it.

For me, for the $60 to $80 I spent out of pocket for each of my three Tab A7 tablets, it was easily worth it. But the tablet would not be worth $200.

Anonymous, 26 Dec 2021Bruh it doesn't even have android 12 yet. Really?!? My Galaxy S21 was updated to Android 12 back in November. I think it updated on Thanksgiving day? This was pushed form Samsung and I never signed up for any beta software.

This is not a good tablet, not as bad as the tab a 2019, but overall a very bad tablet. The tft screen is crap, the cameras are only usable for video calls (photo quality is laughable) and it's a poorly optimized tablet. The tab a 2016 has a way better ips screen and it's almost as faster as this, even with only 2gb ram and an exynos chip. And the tab a 2022 it will be even worse, with that atrocious spreatrum chip. Samsung is downgrading all tab a's released since the tab a 2016.

Got it 2nd hand and it's great for what i wanted it... BUT.. doesn't support OTG. Texted tech support and got a disclaimer from them saying it's not supported. I tried to connect my midi keyboard and it's not detected, yet strangely it gets powered. Tried a different c type adapter. Same result. Ended up being a bad purchase for that. Now i am trying to get rid of it and move to a Lenovo.
