I bought A8 because I could not find A7 anymore. Terrible screen, speed, cameras...much better idea is to buy S6 Lite, even if a bit more expensive. Or Xiaomi...Samsung should be ashamed to sell such a bad device...A now stands for Appalling ?

They've deliberately made the budget tablet much weaker this time to push people towards their premium like the s7 tab. It's a con really. They've got no midrange and the alternative to this is over 600. Realistically, this should be around 180 euros and there should be a midrange 350 or 400 model.

at least Samsung offers 1 or 2 majo... moreIn terms of updates, you should also be aware that on the official Samsung website there is a footnote that says "The list of security update models are subject to change and it will be reviewed on a periodic basis."
It means Samsung can unilaterally change their update policy for certain devices so there is always the possibility that some Samsung devices will not get updates for more than 2 years like flagship devices.

at least Samsung offers 1 or 2 majo... moreIf you compare it to tablets from Teclast, Chuwi or Alldocube, the argument for software updates can indeed be taken into consideration, but some people prefer to get affordable tablets with better performance so they can immediately feel in daily use, especially for those who like to play games on tablets.
But if you use a tablet for school or work that needs a security update to make you feel a little more secure then for me the Lenovo P11 Plus is still better than the Galaxy Tab A8.
Because not only Lenovo P11 Plus specifications are better but also Lenovo will continue to provide security updates until 2024 and is scheduled to get Android 12 update on 5/31/2022.
Search "Lenovo Android Upgrade Matrix" to find out the OS or security update for any Lenovo android device.

at least Samsung offers 1 or 2 major android version update and quarterly security patches for 2+ years, so the price deference is worth it

lol at the specs. got a xiaomi pad 5 for a little more & it's a bang for the buck. S860 processor / 120fps screen / quad speakers / 33w fast charging & long lasting battery life / very good single camera / slim & sleek design / 256gb storage / pen support with wireless changing feature & much more.
only negative point is 6GB ram. should've had 8gb
screw samesung.

So this tablet has slightly faster chipset than the one inside the Nokia T20, but it has a much smaller battery and no FM Radio support. Pity, Samsung could have done better.
