None of the Samsung S-Pens used NFC tech. The first S-Pen used a tech from Wacom which required no batteries.
Newer ones include battery not for writing but for extra Bluetooth features like remote camera shutter (note 9).
Maybe thats where the hole would be for the 4g model? Not 100% sure
Pens don't necessarily use NFC, my S24 ultra's pen works even if NFC is disabled. You are probably saying capacitive vs active pens. I think this A9+ would work with capacitive pens. But Samsung obviously doesn't have such so you need ...
