This tablet was a ripoff at $300, but ever since the price has gone down, I'd say go for it. This tablet can easily make 16 hours of SOT with power saving mode enabled. This screen is color accurate, but has a low pixel density. The processor is a Snapdragon 410, I believe, and this baby doesn't seem to lag anywhere except scrolling. It's decent at games, and less demanding titles are a breeze on this thing. RAM management seems good enough for most, but I wouldn't expect more than three or four apps at once. The cameras are potatoes, but they aren't the worst I've seen. The speakers aren't the best, they don't get particularly loud or detailed, but they're great for everyday use. This being a midranger from Samsung, don't expect it to get Nougat officially, but TouchWiz over Android 6.0.1 includes basically all the new features of Nougat, so not very important. This tablet seems to know that it's a low-end tablet, and uses it to its advantage. The lower-res screen and chip set, coupled with the large 6,000 mAh battery combine into way more SOT than any other tablet, even iPads, and it's awesome. This thing is great for everyday use, just if you can get it for less than $250.

The only reservation is the speakers can be a little bit tinny and quiet depending on the source or chanel. An external speaker is a good investment.

I also have a Bluetooth keyboard but for most of the time the predictive text makes sending messages quick and easy so I only use my laptop once a week or less (cut and paste using a tablet is too fiddly for me).

The only difference is that the 555 takes a sim card and the 550 doesn't. Invest in decent speakers and you will be very happy. Great for surfing the net too.

                        -t550 wifi only
                        -t555 gsm version
P550 wifi only with s pen
                        P555 gsm with s pen.
The versions with s pen are more expensive than the non s pen version for each category.
The p555 version is the most featured packed and very difficult to find( sold only in specific markets, not sold in the US atleast officially).

At top of spec there are 2 models T550 (Wi-Fi) and T555 (3G/LTE).
T550 is wifi only, no GSM (sim card)
T555 has GSM, so needs a sim card for 3G etc
