What is the point of removable battery if there is no charging dock that is being sold specifically for that battery (at least I can’t find anywhere).
If you can’t charge 2 batteries simultaneously, then what’s the purpose of
buying a second battery at all?

My friend had this tablet and said it is good enough for daily usage. I think the battery is poor for me, so I choose another one. For our experience, they have their own features but mine a bit more cost-effective....

Amazing how this tablet, just like its predecessor Active3, can drain the battery while apparently doing nothing.

That was at least 10 years ago. I have one, it still works but i cant run any apps because it is stuck with some ancient android.

The EU 5G version is the best device that I have used.
Pros:
* Giant screen. I am not aware of any non-foldable device in the history with such a big screen that has all the phone functionality.
* Solid build. Feels durable, especially compared to foldable phones.
* A lot cheaper than foldable phones.
* S-pen
* Physical navigation + programmable active button
* MicroSD + SIM card + eSim (simultaneous dual SIM + microSD)
* Phone calls and SMS just like you would expect from any phone
* Good phone cover comes with it
* In theory, easily exchangeable battery but I have not been able to find extra batteries on sale anywhere.
Cons:
* Not great battery life. I hope the next model has bigger battery and Amoled.
* Ok but not great performance.
* Ridiculously big bezels.
* Camera is passable but not great

It is the device that I have used. However, there are few major flaws. Battery life is not great. I hope the next model has bigger battery and Amoled. Also the bezels are ridiculously big. Performance is OK but not great.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2024Is the tab active 3 battery good for the tab active 5 too?The tab 5 has a slightly different shape to the tab 3 battery so unfortunately can't be changed over. It was one of the first things I tried when we got them in at work

The Active5 is faster and more responsive than the Active3. Battery charging seems somewhat faster and longer lasting but it could be due to some Android 14 optimization. Another pro, the Active5 supports eSIMs, which I have yet to try. A major con is the missing HDMI Dex (a very poor decision, IMO), available on the Active3. I tried using a wireless HDMI receiver but the lag is unacceptable. This is why I also hold on to my Active3, which I only use for Dex now. The Active5, with a more sturdy case and a display protector, tethered to my iPhone is my beach/pool/expedition tablet.

Using this tablet for 2 months, happy with it. Just that the screen doesn't has RGB setting in the display, hence the warm colour is intense which I do not like . I like more cool colour/bluish tinge in my display. More over if it is 9 inch display, would have been better.

No radio, no OTG, a poor main camera and so on. Why I change my old Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 with this ? Once again, Samsung you nailed it. It mean to be industrial but I cannot use an endoscopic camera.

Well - to be fair, it is not like there are many alternatives in the ~8'' tablet niche.
You can pick either Apple iPad mini, which has LTE capability but does not allow calls/SMS, only data because ... uhh .. Apple. You have a pretty decent Lenovo Legion, but this is WiFi-only, and then you have a few very basic entry-level offerings without a pen, NFC or fingerprint reader. And, ofc the previous gen active 3 also, which is fairly old by now.
So in this regard, this tablet is unique enough that if you need/want a phablet with pen, fingerprint, NFC and which can do calls/sms this is more or less the only offer on the table.
Sure, cameras could be a little bit better, could have a little bit better screen, etc etc. But it is what it is and it seems a reasonably rounded offering in this niche for 2024 covering the essentials which would be needed.

Downgrade, USB 3.1 → 2.0 (No DEX HDMI video out). Sad :(

I like the tablet; it's fantastic. The only caveat for my use is the slow charging.
If Samsung will make a model in a couple of years is the same chassis an 9" oled screen and a mediatek 9400 with 12gb//512 and better cameras, it will be the best for many pros.
