Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 debuts with rugged body, mid-range specs

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is official. The rugged slate has been announced by Samsung Netherlands with local businesses in mind.

As rumored, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 comes with a rugged body with military-standard MIL-STD-810 certification and IP68 water and dust protection. The 8-inch 1280x800px display has a high sensitivity mode for use with gloves on.

A fingerprint scanner sits inside the home button.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 comes with an S Pen and Bixby (Home and Voice).

There's an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP on the front.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 offers a removable battery that can also charge attached devices.

The new rugged slate will be available in the Netherlands starting late November for the price of €500.
