Great tablet with excellent screen. Inevitably battery charge declined until I had to leave it plugged in. Checked YouTube for video on how to replace it - got instructions and then got a battery off eBay. Not complicated and it now runs (and charges) like new. Think it will now probably see me out.

They are making these huge heavy tablet's that I cannot hold without straining my neck. Am looking for someone to crack it and upgrade to android 11 so that I can continue to use it. What is now offered of similar size is not near the same quality in resolution.

Absolutely the best tablet EVER. This belongs in the hall of fame.
I keep buying all sorts of galaxy phones, tablets and even a couple of ipads.
NOTHING comes close to s2 in sheer availabilty.
GIve us an upgraded versiom for 2024, Samsung? What....

Tab s2 8.0 and mega 6.3 were the greatest tabs ever made ...sad no one makes these 2 legends anymore . Ya ipad mini is still around but no amoled

I still have Android 7 stock but now a few apps do not work as they need updated Android api. Still the stock is much better. Sadly no one has been able to solve the custom rom issues for LTE versions.

Lots of services depend on SMS codes. People still make phone calls.

I have upgraded it to LIneageOS 19.1 from XDA. It works fine but seems a bit slow. I don't know if my battery needs to be replaced. Accubattery says its health is about 82%. I may get 3-4 hours screen time. Can anyone suggest a reputable battery supplier? OEM batteries cost around $50, compatible ones are about $30.

I've had this tablet since 2016 (coming close to 7 years now), and it still holding up. I like the size a lot, useful for reading, movies, even working.
I noticed the last year that software-wise it has been degrading (apps now randomly crash, some can't be installed at all), and some hardware issues (some overheating with some apps, can't connect to pc to get files out). Nothing major except for the random apps crashing, which can be annoying.
I'm looking for a replacement - but even going up the price range, I'm struggling to find something that is even a match while staying at this size (I've seen the suggestion for the iPad mini, but I don't want to get in the iOS ecosystem).
