Maggi, 14 Jul 2020S5e will receive monthly updates. Tab A did received update... moreIs it difficult to comprehend that I am using this since launch (over 1 year) and it doesn't and will not receive monthly security updates? Are you or Samsung the manufacturer?
Sorry to break the illusion but this isn't and never was on the monthly list. Stop making stuff up, I'm tired of people like you.

It will start to get quarterly updates which is good . It has latest security update for july. I received May update first and then I got androd 10 which had june update. Like ive said models over two yrs will receive quarterly updates. Samsung have been good with thier updates whether its quarterly or monthly.

I have to say the fingerprint scanner has amazed me. Works first time always. The display and sound is great on this tablet. Great for watching movies and listening to music. And with Andriod 10 even better with extra added features. Personally for me, this tablet is very good. Thats my honest opinon on it:)

Do not ACUSE me of lying on this forum.. it will get monthly update as device isn't even two yrs old. As for the problems your havimg then you should have took it back instead of complaining! Even my tab A got monthly updates for 2yrs. Because you have a problem with this tablet dont force it on to someone else. Again you get your facts right before throwing accusations. And stop ranting to me. Do not rely to my comment.

There was even a bug right out of the box; After setting it up it froze and you had to force a restart. Guess when that was fixed, a month later. Galaxy Buds and Wearable app was also not supported for four to six months after launch. No need to praise bad software support! I know Samsung sucks at updates but this never received good enough support since day one...

Samsumg have been good with updates which is great for thier tablets and phones. This tablet is running smooth after updating 10 2.1. I like the extra features. And I'm.glad my tab A got it to. Good on Samsung!

Infact July security came with Andriod 10 on Tab A. So we will probably get july security update sometime this month for yab s5e.

Android 10 update with OneUI 2 and June 2020 security patch is currently rolling out for the tab S5e. Finally, a universal dark mode switch and many other improvements.

I strongly advise getting the 6gb ram option instead of 4gb. I have Youtube, Samsung Internet 3-4 tabs, Amazon Shopping open and Apps reload like crazy. Processor is fast so it doesn't bother me that much but it still shows how outdated 4gb ram is.

Added full screen gestures. New navigation Gestures, music share , quick share screen recorder calls and texts to.any device. Trash can for contacts, and my files. Dark mode enhanced images, text, and colour adjustments for day and night. Darken wallpapers , widgets and alarms while dark mode is on. Few more. Its running really smooth.

How many hours of screen time are you all getting? I have wifi on and 40-50 % brightness and I'm getting only over 8 hours of screen on time on a brand new tab s5e. I see people getting about 10 or even 12 hours.

Just recieved Andriod 10 on my galaxy Tab A 10.5 just now. My tab s5e got it when I bought it on Wednesday. android 2.1 . So.im glad Samsung are still updating even 2018 models which is good.

Matt, 09 Jul 2020Where I live, the S4 and s5e tablets are priced the same. I... moreThe tab S4 has faster processor but that doesn't mean it's better overall. The tab S4 is end of life (almost 2 years old) which means no more software and security updates. Also, the amoled display and battery will have likely deteriorated more, being almost 2 years old. Also, the tab S4 has an iris scanner for authentication which is unreliable (slow detection and lots of false rejections) compared the tab S5e's fast side positioned fingerprint reader.
The snapdragon 670 in the tab S5e is also fast enough for most needs and don't feel slow or sluggish at all despite being less powerful than the snapdragon 835 of the tab S4. As a bonus, you get better battery life with the less power hungry processor of the S5e.
Better to get the S5e over the 2 year old S4 if both are priced similarly. Otherwise, if the tab S4 is much cheaper, you may want to consider it over the S5e.

I have to say the display when watching movies is amazing. The sound is amazing. So far after Android 10 update everything is running smooth:).
