andrehe, 22 Nov 2019Removing features is not progress. People seem to be brainw... moresome people need headphone jack, some dont. so its a personal preference. for me, headphone jack is not a must. i prefer to listen to songs via bluetooth earphones, with high quality ones of course (which doesnt necessary be expensive). yes, there is connection issues here and there. some bluetooth receiver does tend to excel in this regard, my sony bluetooth earphone never had these connection issues before.

Samsung is smart, very devilish company.
They removed 3.5mm jack so they can steal 20 euro more from your pocket.
Because it isn't included in package...
They know you will buy that adaptor, even they make a video for kidding Apple.
They did same on Note 10...
Shameless thief company.
Dont trap in...
Dont buy it, if people dont buy they cant try.
Dont feed evil!!!!

aaaaa, 24 Oct 2019I'm really tired of seeing people bash companies for remova... moreRemoving features is not progress. People seem to be brainwashed by advertisement, better not to watch it.
The 3.5" jack is not only for connecting earplugs, but for connecting the tablet to an amplifier as well. A bluetooth connection is not stable. Bluetooth earplugs you have to charge, and you use a shared medium which might get congested, and worse you can be spied upon if you use a BT headset, before end-to-end-encryption is taking place. Furthermore, there are quality issues for BT audio. USB-C adapters which often do not work are active usually but not always and in this case contain a D/A circuit, like a bluetooth earplug, because our ears are analog. Not clever the approach. Better to put the D/A circuit into the smartphone, and not in every peripheral. If you look at the 3.5mm jack and compare it to the newer USB-C connector, you see that the jack is more rugged and can take many more push/pull cycles. If you want to be a sheep following the "newest tech", you can be it, but do not call it progress which it isn't. I will not pay a premium price for a device lacking fundamental features. Better to repair an old Samsung tablet laying around. Samsung loses sales for nothing. There is enough space to put the jack. At home I use a 6.3mm jack for connecting my headphone to the audio card of my PC which is even better, but I understand that a smartphone has a form factor, and 3.5mm jack is a good compromise. Nokia tried 2.5mm a long time ago but going that route is not really necessary.
