I bought one Cyber Monday and took it back today. Was very disappointed with the picture quality. I thought the picture quality was terrible for a Samsung product! I also feel the product is not constructed well, I imagine this is to keep the weight down. The plastic screen was too much for me!

There is no way on this tablet to rotate screen? Doesn't have gyroscope neither acelerometer ? That is too bad for games... such a pity

Hi guys! Can someone call by phone with this device?
I live in Spain and I have purchased, 4 days ago, this tablet, in Amazon Italy, because in Spain don´t sell this model. I have got a Note Pro 12.2 and works well phoning calls.
When I bought this tablet I thought that would be the same, but I can´t find the green icon with the phone, nor the dialer. I only see the CONTACTS icon and I push on the numbers and everything else, and is impossible call by phone.
I have talked with Samsung Italy and they said that is possible to phoning with, they insist that works with Europeans SIM´s correctly.
I put the SIM into the slot and the tablet recognise it, all the symbols are right, 4G and the triangle with the four bars. I tried phoning with other phone to the SIM of the tablet and give the signal ok, but the tablet don´t do anything, it does not sound, but everything seems to be going well...
The tablet is in warranty and I don´t want flashing by odin ( does anybody know if this device has the famous counter of flashing rom?)
The actual ROM is T677XXU1AOJC. I tried with Kies and it installed the same rom (PDA: 0K5, CSC: 0K5, PHONE OJC (ITV)
I have got a SGS 4 too, from Rumania, and never gives troubles.
If somebody know´s something about this, please, tell me, because I don´t know what to do!

I went to the store intending to buy a small TV for the bedroom, and ended up coming home with the Galaxy View instead. Amazing device and well worth it, as I could install Kodi straight onto the device and access all entire media library from my Linux server without the hassle of setting up an additional device like a Raspberry Pi. Unlike a TV, the relative portability also makes it easy to bring it into the kitchen too!
The screen quality isn't the best, but it's passable for just watching shows while relaxing or making dinner. The sound quality is pretty decent for a tablet though; the speakers sound much closer to those on a real TV than you might expect.
Since owning this tablet, I also found some other cool uses for it. For example, it's great when I'm playing PS4 games and want to read a guide for the game I'm playing, as I can just sit the tablet on my lap and easily read and navigate guides on the large screen without even putting the controller down.
I also installed some music rhythm games on it (ReRave Plus, Cytus, DJ Max), which are incredible fun on a screen of this size, although the touchscreen sometimes can't keep up with the fast inputs required on the harder songs.
Overall, the Galaxy View is a very unique device in that it can fulfil several roles that no other device really can. Aside from the average picture quality and touchscreen issue, I'm really happy that I went with the View instead of settling with a standard non-portable bedroom TV.

I have a 13.3" Lenovo yoga 2 pro tablet which I have to say is very good, you can send text messages but no voice calling for obvious reasons, but overall it's great playing games and watching movies on there, and the display is really impressive. I recommend these larger tablets, so much better than these 8 and 10 inch tablets, I have 2 sony tablets in those categories and it's just not exciting enough playing games on the 10" never mind the 8".

From users' experience it appears to do a fine job, so the 'inadequate RAM' theory seems to be wrong somewhere.

I have had mine since the release date and I love it. Use it daily heavy usage at that its wonderful if we're willing to spend the money

I would love this if it had at least 3gb and a better camera for this price. I don't know what Samsung was thinking....2gb? Yet I dig the idea of a huge tablet!
