The ics update for SGS isn't even the off... morei don't claim to know everything, but i do know enough not to ask stupid questions like "will this phone get ics update"? what makes u think any of us here know more than what comes from samsung guys themselves? like u said, it's only a couple of weeks old, and ics is already out, so... there's something to be said about patience.

I am very happy with this phone except for one - the battery life is too short! It is so short that it is not acceptable for a 3G phone.

galaxy W will not be getting ICS.
This is for your information. Dont get misguided. samsung officially announced that galasy S2, note and R will get the ICS update.

I think i will get the sgr , since it has the larger screen and better pross .The main point is , it will get the ICS update !

someone help me. how to download asphalt 5, asphalt6hd, heavygunner, bia2, deadspace, dungeonhunter,hero of sparta, NOVA 2 HD and reckless racing on samsung galaxy w. I downloaded these games via pc thru its apk files but to no avail. here's what it says instead when i run these games "this game requires additional date to run on your phone do you want to download the file?" but when i download it via wifi i cant download the file. pls help....

As a consumer i'd at least want to be reassured that when i purchase a recent product that i'd get full support for it from the manufacturer. Right now, we're left in the dark. This may not be a big deal for most but to me it is.

Is the Galaxy W getting any ICS update? I've read in Samsungs announcement that it wasn't one of the phones getting Android 4.0. What gives?!
The specs clearly qualifies it for the update (and it's only a few weeks old!) since SE is committed to getting ICS on most of their Xperia models. And these phones have the same exact specs as the Galaxy W!

To those who have been wondering about the battery life of this superb little phone, basically it is above average - it always lasts for more than a day, and that is with heavy usage (I play games on it a lot!) and the fact that there is a power-saving tool built in the phone really helps to extend the battery life. I actually then wanted to push it more, so I downloaded an app from the Market, called "Easy Battery Saver" (Easy Dev, I believe?) and it is more brilliant than ever! Even when the battery level drops below 50%, it sips the battery just like a conscious, responsible drinker! Prior to the App, when the battery level goes really low, the phone itself will adjust its brightness and whatnot to keep it alive, so it is good still! :)
For those who are worried about the S-LCD screen, don't be! Yes, it does not have the deep black of its bigger brothers, but it still is good. I was actually surprised, because I owned a Galaxy S before (had to give that up to my sister) and expected nothing more from the screen of this phone. But my god, was I really in for a surprise! It really is good and I did not feel bad for giving up the Galaxy S!
The camera is good too for a 5MP snapper. This surprises me as well, because I thought it would only be mediocre, but turns out I was wrong. It is actually good (perhaps not excellent) and I would put it up there with the 5MP snapper of an N95! :)
Regarding the storage, from what I can see on this Task Manager, the System Storage is 1.07GB and the USB Storage is 1.70GB. I also have an 8GB memory card on this phone. So yes. :)

im experiencing lag most of the time...im not sure if its the phone or theres something that im not doing right...i updated my firmware (fota),but im not sure if thats the reason or im just using the app killer too much...F1 pls.

When Samsung announced their ICS roll out plans the galaxy w wasn't even included! Even the galaxy S lines arent going to get ICS! I dont get it...SE is going to get ICS on most of their Xperia models, and many of these are running on the same CPU and GPU as the galaxy w!
Get ready for a lot of angry customers Samsung.
