Dont bother about backing up, the update wont affect your data. I am using a UK sim-free version so I'm not sure if the update has been rolled to your part of the world.

confused, 11 Dec 2011im so confused is this phone will get ics ? Is there any po... moreThis phone definitely has adequate hardware to run ICS. It has similar or better hardware than all the 2011 Xperia phones and they WILL be getting ICS. Unfortunately, Samsung hasnt officially announced whether this will get ICS but its highly probable. Just a month after this phone was released, Samsung have already released an update to Gingerbread 2.3.6. Even though it might take quite long, eventually this will probably get ICS.

Gohub, 09 Dec 2011I dont know which one to buy, this one or LG 2x ? I like TW... moreIn the the end I really think it comes down to preference. If u prefer the bigger screen and slightly bulkier build of the 2X then you should go for it.I had a hands on experience with one and while its more snappy bcos of the dual core cpu, its screen is surprisingly way below the standard of the Galaxy W in terms of clarity. Personally I went for the Samsung bcos I dont really trust LG as a smartphone brand at this point in time considering some less than impressive devices recently.But thats just my preference.

Amos, 10 Dec 2011Why on earth would you by this phone when the Sony Ericsson... moreHere in our country, arc S is $120 more expensive than galaxy w. galaxy w is a mid-range smartphone, while arc s is at the high end category so why compare arc s to this phone? It's even a shame that arc s, being a high end smartphone, still uses the same old processor and gpu like the ones galaxy W have. Samsung and other brands have already developed dual core phones way back but how about sony? that rumored Xperia Duo? pfft! please, gimme a break. When they have finally developed a smartphone with dual core, other brands are already releasing quad core ones.

Hi, *** PLEASE HELP **
I just tried updating my firmware using Kies,
I kept on getting an error message, unidentified device driver, i've even tried Kies own troubleshooting procedure, still no joy, in fact I can't get my phone to work I only get an image of a box an a green android standing outside the box. Can anyone please help me??
