It's funny how people judge a phone by its outer appearance. I have an apple-fanboy friend who owns iPhone 4 and knows nothing about android phones. He saw my new Galaxy W, he was smirking while checking out my phone, and said it sucks cuz it looked and feel like a plastic toy. Then I grabbed my phone, started running one of my classic PS game "Valkyrie Profile" and said "Can you play this game on your effin iPhone?" Apparently, he didn't know that droids can play old psx games. His jaw dropped and was dumbstruck when he saw that I could play ps1 games on my phone since we're both huge fans of ps1 games. His reaction was epic.xD

AnonD-25554, 22 Nov 2011thanks my friend,i hadnt seen w but lookwise it looks crap ... moreIf you prefered ARM Cortex Hummingbird CPU then i suggest you choose Galaxy S i9000 which has GPU PowerVR SGX 540 while Galaxy SL with only PowerVR SGX530. Fyi PVR SGX540 are really powerful than SGX530 or Adreno 205. Currently Galaxy S and SL share the same price in Malaysia market.

But I did not consider this, as well as the i9000 because, for some reason, here in Philippines, the price of these two is still too expensive compared to W.

The big question here is ,this phone can upgrade to ice cream sndwhich..?if yes it ll be the best midrange phone to take..if compare to the S plus..the price is way too far to compare with as S plus arround RM1200 to get a new one while W can buy it arround RM900.do the math and deep consideration,as its just diff of the screen size n type,and ROM memory.

Why do people compare this phone to galaxy ACE?
For everybody's sake, this phone is way way far better than galaxy ACE... the good comparison for this phone is the Galaxy S, SL and S Plus, also include Sony Xperia Neo, HTC Desire S and Iphone 4(set aside screen)...

W - 1.4 Ghz
Hope you'll care about this.
I also compared the screen brightness (50% brightness level) with my friend's SL and the result is: W is way clearer and brighter than SL (maybe this is due to the pixel density which is 233ppi only for SL and 255ppi for W)...
In using the android browser through 3g, W is 20 seconds ahead of SL in loading the GSM arena syt... considering all plug-ins are set on-demand...(due to higher processing power of W)
In gaming, the Asphalt 6 HD plays smoothly in W while it sometimes lags in SL... (due to higher processing power of W)
Additional apps: in W you have polaris office which is the best office apps, while SL you dont have this.
OS: In W you have gingerbread already, while in SL still have froyo (still waiting in vain for the gingerbread update if you are from asia)
Now, if you are going to choose between the 2, choose W, it will never disappoint you.

Gorilla glass is important for touchscreen smartphone for better scratch protection. gsmarena better if you include w/ Gorilla Glass option in the Phone Finder. Thanks.
