Please ad the Technical fakt that the memory ist cheap and slow.
ONLY UFS 2.2 Flash - That could be much better. Very sad.
USB-3.0 in REAL only = 5 GB/s speed.
I dont like the DIAL Callscreen on the Samsung devices
compared to my holy
beloved
HTC U11
All other things are good so far. But the Samung call screen is really not as intutivite as
i was used on non Samsung Phones and really goes on my NERVE.
An the screen with 6.60" is to tall to use with one Handy, even tough i have relly large handy as I am almost 2 Meter tall!

The successor has been TÜV-certified (https://www.certipedia.com/certificates/03170960?locale=en) and Geekbench-ed (https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/11015532). The latter indicates 6GB RAM, which would be a little disappointing, as that would be no upgrade over the XCover6 Pro.
Sammobile (https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-xcover-8-pro-50-faster-xcover-6-pro/) talks of two new phones, XCover7 Pro and XCover8 Pro, but I suspect they are just confusing things. The X8P name was never even rumored, it was just an early public extrapolation based on Samsung's previous namings. The model number SM-G766* and the name XCover7 Pro on the other hand were both in actual leaks. Hence I think this is all just about one device, the XCover7 Pro, and there is no XCover8 Pro upcoming now.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2025For the record, turning off animations doesn't actuall... moreYeah, and some of these animations are somewhat useful in that they show that the app is still doing something in the background, like loading data. Turning animations off can make such apps feel like they have frozen/crashed (they haven't, but it can be confusing, as you no longer see any progress).

For the record, turning off animations doesn't actually effect performance it just turns off those annoyingly slow animations allowing you to get from point A to point B faster, basically makes your phone feel snappier.

If if you want your XCover6 Pro to be a very fast (faster than the S24 normal settings) even with only 6GB ram... then do these: activate the developers options...then somewhere in the middle of the long list of options, find and turn them off (the window, transition and animation scales)... and you will be amazed how fast your XCover6 Pro has become.

EB-BG766GBY, likely the battery of the XCover8 Pro, has been registered in India:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Samsung-Galaxy-XCover8-Pro-First-signs-of-next-gen-rugged-smartphone-emerge.916215.0.html
No specs yet, but being registered on its own like that indicates the battery is a replaceable product. Some sites even claim it is a sign of an imminent release, no idea. Also, one should keep in mind that so far this is all speculation based on model codes.

exp1orer, 29 Oct 2024hold your breath folks... XCover8 Pro is coming 😎
https:... moreMid-2025 is their guesstimate, i.e. at least half a year - I hope it won't be that long. In the past the phase between first rumor and release was significantly shorter than that.
Model number SM-G766B, good to have for checking the FCC database every once in a while.
Anyway, time to speculate! Same battery? Will it keep microSD and headphone jack? Will it get the regular generational RAM increase (8GB) or enough to join the AI craze? Will DeX stay or was the XCover6 Pro a one-off in that regard?

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2024Will that effect battery life?i didn't find any difference in battery life... if there is I would think it is very insignificant and for the better because it stops the phone from making any animation by 1 sec (default setting) every time screen changes.

make your XCove6 Pro faster... activate the developer options... then look for the 3 animation scales there (somewhere in the middle of the long list of options) and change them from 1x to OFF... and you'll have a very snappy phone. I did this to all my Samsung devices and it's incredible how they became faster.

Now that it cost USD 350 this phone is pretty much attractive for people. it even has DEX Support and has near SD 855 performance, which is great.

I don't think this really applies here. The phone is mainly geared towards corporate and agency users. Those do not really need a new phone generation every year - quite the opposite, they may very well prefer to buy a batch of X thousand phones now and be able to buy another Y thousand in two years, rather than have to switch to a new device (and accessories and processes and training...). It took about a year for suppliers like KOAMTAC and RAM Mount to release dedicated XCover6 Pro accessories (vehicle mounts, warehouse scanner etc).
Samsung knows they won't be selling glass-sandwich consumer phones to customers purchasing XCover fleets, so unless they want to abandon that market they will eventually release a successor to the XCover6 Pro. I'm guessing 2025 - the more budget-friendly XCover7 was just half a year ago.

To all those wondering why no review of this one, or why no successor models of this phone with even better specs. Nobody want's to manufacture a phone where you will be even semi-sufficient in terms of battery or other components replacement. Let alone drop the phone and nothing is damaged LoL. The big companies want to sell you a phone at least every year so that you shell out your hard earned money (or not so hard earned) that often. If they could they would make you buy a new one each week, or even each day, but they haven't figured this out yet.
