Samsung then reuploaded the video a few days ago eliminating the Amoled portion of their video ad.

my excitement about this phone came back after Samsung UK posted a video in YouTube today that the phone will have an AMOLED display...does this mean the display specification depends on the region? US will have an IPS display while Europe will have a AMOLED display? I hope Samsung UK video is correct...

Is the SD-card-slot a DEDICATED SLOT?
As far as i understand, in EU, the DualSIM version of the xcover pro is sold.
Can someone tell me reliably if it really is DUAL SIM + microSD slot?
In some sources, it says "hybrid" slot which sounds unclear to me.
So if someone owns the phone (the Enterprise dual sim version) please look inside and confirm whether it is full featured 2 SIM cards AND microSD.
                  Many thanks.

i am looking forward to the phone as i want to replace my slowly aging

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2020Think about the intended use of this phone. This is not a s... moreI, for example always struggle between wanting rugged smartphone and good smartphone. Rugged thus far, at least available ones in my part of EU were either overpriced garbages with poor screens, shitty cameras and weak chipsets or super expensive Galaxy S7/S8 Actives that weren’t available in my country. Then there’s Chinese with all around ok’ish prices for the specs but still with shitty cameras and zero OS updates or patches I assume. So, yeah, I wish this Samsung’s cameras were decent for its class, video, well, it looks like its chipset should be capable of it so why not? Also, supposedly longer OS updates and patches is a plus, price, however, should be closer to 400€ and not 500€. On pre-sale over here below 500, between 450 and 499€. If its camera is on par with S9 or at worst S8 that I own, I might get one.

Nothing with the "Pro" title should have a pinhole camera or notch.. either are a poor and illogical design choice and should cease to exist altogether.

big difference tho, compared to f.e amazon, you can be dealing with independent person so there is barely any regulation. though you can just order it from the samsung website or order from a bigwarehouse.

dont be foolish and go to those phone shops and pay 10-20% to get advice you will forget/can google anyway.

maybe in your case it would be smart to wait and buy when there is overstock.

in my opinion its quite pricey, i stepped away from samsung some time ago.

This is exactly what I need! Large and removable battery, water and drop resistance, and a dedicated microSD card slot. Don't need such a super-fancy phone with 4 cameras and hundreds of megapixels camera.

My only biggest fear is the availability. I don't think Samsung would sell this phone to many countries as much as their mainstream phones. How could I buy one? I live in Indonesia

Just glad they made it available to normal people as all those powerful phones with sealed batteries are useless for us remaining loyal to non sealed batteries.

This rugged phone seems to be good but it's weighting 218g, not 179g as written here. Just see its specs at the Samsung's official site.
