Is this the successor to the active series? Really nice to have a removable battery. I want my next phone to be a rugged phone, there are so many options now between Samsung, Kyocera, Ulefone, Blackview, Doogee, etc.

So Samsung themselves provides conflicting information - none of their printed info has it as AMOLED. I guess we will have to wait an dsee. Here in Sweden the first shops are now listing it for preorder, with 15 days delivery time.

I'm very excited about this phone when Samsung USA put some video detail of this phone in YouTube. It says it has a AMOLED display. This will definitely be my next phone.

The Verge also initially claimed OLED, but then retracted this. Maybe someone misspoke.

This phone is almost perfect to replace my haggard OnePlus One... I hope there will be a 5G version though then it will be good for the long run.

If the headphone jack is decent for music then I'm in.
A removable battery and 4 years of security updates is ideal for me.
With so many phones thinking along the same lines, it is nice to see a separate approach targeted at its own market. This phone, while not ideal, fits better with my environmental thinking because it has a noticeably longer design life.

This phone looks awesome! Headphone jack, SD card slot, removable battery, programmable buttons, Dual LED flash, OLED display. Up-to-date OS and specs. Under $500. Nice! Now, was that really so hard, Samsung? ;-)
Also there is an error on the specs here on gsmarena, it falsely says it has an IPS LCD display but the phone actually has an OLED display. Here is the source where it says it has an OLED display:

the nice thing about the side finger scanner is that it can be a way to replace the volume buttons by sliding finger up or down it, amongst other things using it like a micro touch pad

only reason this phone is $500 bucks is the IP69 rating, otherwise it would be at most $300. You also don't really see mid-range phones with any water resistance at all.

Not bad, but too big, 6.3 inch tft screen is big for that 4050mha battery. Ill wait for the Xcover field pro, that one will be better.

chats, 09 Jan 2020You guys forgot that small phones doesn't exist anymore right? There are a few left:
Low end: Nokia 3.1 (5.2")
Lower mid range: Sony Xperia XA2 (5.2")
Lower mid range: Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4s(5")
High end: Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (5")
But that's about it for recent phones.

And Galaxy Note 10 (the standard) has 6.3" too! For you a tablet is a phone?? Wow! You know, you need to use your brain!
