You only select the OUTGOING (calling) SIM. Dual standby means, that if you are talking to one sim (and for as long as you talk) the other SIM appears unreachable. You can fix that by enabling call forwarding when unreachable from one sim to the other.. (but you usually pay for the forwarding, unless you also disable call waiting to both sims and the other gets a busy tone)
