I remember us walking into an electronic store and walking out with 2 new phones - this one for her and a Motorola Defy for myself. Sadly the Defy has died - it just wont turn on, maybe the battery has gone kaput!
Anyway I've installed the Opera Mini browser on it and strangly the play store is not working after that. I just wanted a camera app.

Here I am posting in the year 2020. September 15, 2020 to be exact. The Galaxy Y was my very first Android phone. I was so hooked to Nokia back then, but they fell short as a company. This is a really good phone. Good for gaming back then. Everything was simpler.

I love this phone. It has a 830 megahertz processor with a 2 megapixel camera with the smallest thickest screen ever. Maybe some day, I will put a Android 7 ROM so I can watch the boot animation.

This was my first Android Phone. It was uber cool for its tiny looks although the bezels were darn huge. Loved it's 5.1 Surround Music feature which was really good considering the price it was launched after Galaxy Pop. It was the beginning for Samsung to make its strides into budget smartphones.

bought this phone in 2012, until today it still works. Just that the power button spring has some prob, and also the home button is not functioning. Other than that it still functions well. Kept it a backup phone, can still do internet tethering but its on 3G only.

Please do a promo to replace this phone for a new Samsung phone it does not support WhatsApp now in 2020.It really amazing just old . And someone please respond to this.

Thanks to today's GSMArena Flashback article about Android 2.3 Gingerbread, I immediately remembered this Samsung. This was my first ever Android smartphone and I still remember how smooth the overall performance was.
