Yes, I know you can put cases on but that makes them thicker, right? Years ago, many phones were of the flip design and massively popular. When smartphones came along the constraint at the time was that the screen didn't bend and nobody wanted two screens. At the end of the day, it's a choice thing but I think you'll find this technology will find a place in the market - expect to see many more manufacturers follow suit!

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2020can anyone tell me the benefit of carrying a phone half the... moreI obviously am much older than you. I used flip phones years ago but the screens were small and they had a physical keyboard on the bottom half. The Motorola Razr and the Motorola Krzr were beautiful phones--much better than the big slabs of today. I have been waiting for a flip phone that opens to a full screen. So, this phone is definitely for me.

can anyone tell me the benefit of carrying a phone half the length and twice as thick as a half priced normal phone. Pure gimmik.

Form factor is the only good thing...They could have used 2 screens inside. No more bending problem, and sell it for 500 euros. Big success...

Tried the phone in a Samsung shop in Bangkok. 1450 dollars. Like the compact size, but that is about it. Heavy, expensive, outside screen unusable much too small. Need two hands to open it. And the crease in the middle of the screen is very annoying...miss my samsung E770 from 2005, real flip phone at 85g...

The only 'use' for this phone at the moment is a very very selfish one, purely for that 'wow' effect/status.

The tech inside isn't top notch, it might be on par with other phones but nothing super spectacular you couldn't get for half the price, the tech for the screen is far from being refined and it's way, waaaaaaaaayyy overpriced.

People who really want to 'use' a foldable phone (Because it is a very interesting form factor wich surely will become big once it's being perfected) will wait a few more years. People who buy it now only do it to be the first, to have something others don't.

If not, there are far more superior phones for far less money.

I don't understand what's the point of buying expansive foldable phones when their display can even get scratches by our nails..🤔

The glass doesn't fold without the plastic layer which holds it together. If you fold the so called "ultra thin glass" it just cracks and breaks. This is a polymer screen with a glass core, nothing more...
