Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G and Z Fold3 5G will be IPX8 rated

Yet another insider report points to the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Z Flip3 5G being water resistant. According to Max Weinbach the pair will be IPX8 rated.

That means that they'll be able to withstand water depths of more than 1 meter for over 30 minutes.

If true, and it's looking like it, the pair will be the first water-tight foldables in the world. Yet dust can also be a bane for foldables and their hinges in particular so it could prove more important for them to have dust protection, than water. It's unclear if they are lacking that or the tipster just doesn't have information about it at this point, though.

Foldables have a flexible screen and a hinge, both of which move and make sealing the device harder than your regular bar phone. Still, adding water protection is massively impressive on Samsung's part.

Don't bother the phone having no better dust protection. You can just wash your phone to clear the dust away then dry it. 😎👌

you dont have to spray coat outside the phone, spray coat internal parts, you wont be touching them anyway, so wearing will not happen.

I'm with you. Even Samsung's 45W charging on the S20 Ultra is already too fast for me.
