I hv bought this gear s, within 1 week use i hv a few minor scratches... so sad... no gorilla glass or saphire glass protection... poor UI, not very responsive n lack of sensitivity and also occasional stutter lag... high price, very nice design but very poor hardware...

Hi..plz let me know if this watch is cased with Gorilla glass, also is it water resistant?, Got this watch last nite but not very pleased with it, watch based technology has a long way to go..

manual to activate watach without phone : press on liltle watch 25-30 time on new scren press and hold about 5 seconds redy watch can now wark without phone on its own sim card.

you entered the watch world...
but no info about strap length? how we would know would this fit for small, medium, Large or XXL size wrists? so wouldn't be good to provide info regarding this issue.

I picked this up from verizon today. It is $5 per month. I carry 2 phones one personal and one work. I was able to take note (Work) as main number and put personal number in watch. When away from note example leave in truck while in store and it receives a call After 3 rings it forwards to watch. Watch is stand alone with personal number. I now can carry one phone :)

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2014It's not a stand alone smartphone after all! What a let do... moreNot true.. Just turn off the Bluetooth connection to your phone. You can use it as a stand alone device. That is why they give you a phone number when you activate it. Under settings go to the call menu and switch turn off Bluetooth then it should start working. I tried this as soon as I activated my gear s. It made the call without pairing to my s4. I also noticed that as long as you have a samsung device to do the initial setup, you can actually turn off the call forwarding that phone and set up call forwarding on any other phone to go to your gear s. I have a s4 with work phone but my personal is a LG G3.

I completely agree. I have the Note 4 and just picked up the Gear S and the two work perfect together. There is so much packed into the G. Obviously is doesn't do everything and people are going to have their complaints but to be able to basically leave my phone at home when I run out for a bit or even if I forget it and the G stands in perfectly for that amount of time. Calls, Texts, Emails, Notifications, News, and if you set it up right and download the right apps you can do pretty much everything from the watch. The Note 4 is also a great device. Being so big however the G is a nice change of pace. Finally people talk about the looks. Its a space age looking 2 inch beautiful screen that I get looks all the time and people are amazed. Very happy with my purchases

I have the Samsung Gear S since last week and I am thoroughly impressed. It does everything as advertised and does them well. Amazing piece of electronics. Screen is crystal clear, layout easily learned and very useful. Size was concerning at first but it's very comfortable. My wife who generally is not technical even commented favorably. After using now for a week and seeing all this smart watch can do, I would defiantly recommend to anyone considering a smart watch, especially if you want a backup when you forget your phone. I am using in conjunction with the Note 4, also totally impressive
