Spud , 04 Aug 2016Hi guy can anyone give me advice looking at gear s on ebay.... moreYes it will connect without a sim card. The sim card is used whenever the watch is outside of the bluetooth range, so the watch can be used independently which also allows for calls to your phone to be forward to the watch. So without a sim card you'll need to be connected to WiFi when not connected to your device to be able to use the watch.

korean version samsung gear s to my note 5 and s6 unit took an hour when pairing,nfc open,bluetooth on,installed gear manager app,connected to wifi.please help :(

Can this watch be used with a separate line simultaneously while being able to retrieve calls and text notifications from a mobile phone device? I mean will the watch display notifications from 2 lines simultaneously?

I love the way the Gear S looks and the capabilities of it. I only wish Samsung would've stayed with this style of watch. Not a fan of the new round faced Gear S 2...Im going to stay with the Gear S until it dies on me, which doesnt seem like anytime soon 😊. Hope this helps

I know the Gear S is compatible with almost "old" Galaxy devices (at least Alpha, S6, Note 3, note 4... all tested). With each OS upgrade (kitkat, lollilop, marshmallow) the watch kept to function perfectly (with a reset after each upgrade though).
So i suspect the compatibility between the watch and the phone is only dependant with the OS version and not the device itself.
The gears S will then probably work with the Note 7 (at least with Marshmallow at the beginning) but i'm not sure of that. And since the Nougat OS is soon to be released, will it be compatible ? I hope so since i plan to buy a Note 7...

is the Samsung Gear S R750 compatble with the New Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or can you use the gear s for all samsung smartphone devices please let me know cuzz i really love this watch and i wanna know is it comapatible for all samsung smart phones so please let me know anyone who knows about the gear s r750 cuzz i have no experiance about the gear s comparability with which samsung smart phones
