      To have an mp3 play as your ringtone you need to place the sound file in the "sounds" folder.

      my windows mobile-based device ->
      application data ->
      sounds ->

      If you put the files there, you should be able to select them as you would any other ringtone that was previously available.

          Had the same problem. Keep trying. After my first try I switched to only vibrate and tried that. After that I switched back to ring and vibrate and it worked. Good look.

              I bought this phone after my Nokia E61. First it took me about 3 hours to set the e-mail settings. The battery has to be charged every night. Reception is poor. The phone did not work when other phones (such as sony ericsson, motorola and blackberry)with the same provider worked perfect. I am now back with the E61. Design is not everthing.

                    Nevermind, I called Tmobile. Talk to Tmobile Technical Support: Unsupported Devices or Advanced Solutions team. The quick fix was to change the band connection. To do this, go to Start - Settings - Phone - Band Connection - Current Band: PCS 1900 - Works only inside Americas: Yes. Then go back to Settings. Then to Phone - More - Networks - Network Selection: Manual - Menu: Find a New Network. Once it is done searching and finds a network, it may appear as Cingular Wireless instead of Tmobile. It is fine, it will just be named Cingular but will be using your Tmobile network.

                      I just got this phone, never having used a smartphone before and unaware of how to use it. Would anyone be willing to help me get started? I am using T-Mobile. I don't know which plan to sign on with - $5.99 T-Mobile Web? Currently I do not have a web plan. Also, the SIM card is inserted, but the phone cannot find a signal. How do I even get started? Sorry I am such a NOOB!

                          Eric,
                          The browser is extremely slow with TMobile, even though I have edge, and subscribe to T Mobile Total Internet for $29, and it is not compatible with a lot of major websites. The Nokia E61 is a much better option. You can get a faster internet connection, a better browser, and the best part about it is, you don't even need the total interent package, you just need T-Zones for $5.99 and it picks up the internet via Edge. Also, the batter on the Samsung i320n sucks. It will get drained within 8-10 hours, of normal use.

                                    Hey, for those of you'll trying to set up the MMS feature with the Samsung i320n with TMobile, here are the Settings.
                                    Go to MMS/SMS-Menu-MMS Options-MMS Profiles-Menu-New-Profile Name (Tzones GPRS)-MMSDC URL: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms - Check Proxy - IP Address 216.155.165.50 - Port 9201 - Bearer GPRS - Menu - Advanced - APN wap.voicestream.com - Leave Username and Password Blank - DNS 1: 0.0.0.0 - DNS 2: 0.0.0.0 Done Exit Out

                                    It worked for me. If it doesn't work, call T Mobile Tech Support, Unsupported Devices. They should be able to help.

                                      Had this phone for a couple of weeks. I'm not that impressed by it. Just the design is neat. I use it with T-Mobile in the US. Extremely slow internet connection, considering it has Edge, and I have and Edge connection. A lot of web pages don't open up, and a lot of them you can't navigate properly. Inferior Windows Explorer Browser. Not a lot available in terms of software, although it is a Window's Mobile 5.0 Device. Skype won't work on it. Opera browser for Windows Mobile won't either. And remember, just because some software is compatible with Window's Mobile 5.0, does not necessarily mean it will be compatible with this device. Battery life could be better, although they do provide an additional battery. MSN and Yahoo Mobile work fine. User friendly POP and IMAP mailbox setup feature. No WIFI, No VOIP, terrible browser, and a slow operating system, that often freezes up. Camera is totally ordinary.
                                      My other phone is a Nokia E61, and it just blows this Samsung away. With the E61, all in need is to subscribe to the $5.99 T Zones plan, and it picks up a fast internet connection, where I can surf the web just like I do on my desktop, full HTML, unlike the Samsung which is XHTML. Far superior display in the E61, higher resolution. VOIP, SIP features. Much faster and user friendly operating System. I can make internet calls anywhere in the world for free, when I configured it with pbxes and gizmo: as long as there is WIFI. The E61 is also about $100 cheaper than the Samsung. All in all, this phone is neat if you want to make a fashion statement.
