the first samsung slide, D410, came out in 2003
nokias first slide was 3230... which came out in like... what 2004???

Samsung supplies iPod with sound processors and you can verify with the sound comparison tests GSMArena and Mobile-Review made that at the very least, Samsung phones have the same quality as iPods (dedicated PMP's). The reason why Samsung has a little edge is because of the B&O ICEpower amplifier that increases the volume of music without distortion, this in turns allows Samsungs Ultra II series phones to produce sound quality that exceeds iPod's, Nokia N-Series phones, and Sony Ericsson Walkman phones.
The phone you're looking at now not only has the same processor, and the same amplifier I referred to, it also has updated Digital Sound Processing algorithims and you can check the reviews which mention that, by far, Samsung i450 indeed exceeds Sony Ericsson's Walkman series sound quality. Mind you, SE Walkmans were never exemplary in terms of sound quality, they simply had better media useability and music-oriented accessories which gave the unfounded impression of superiority in terms of music playback.

First slider ever siemens sl10 back in 1999. http://www.gsmarena.com/siemens_sl10-89.php Siemens invented the slide phone and everyone else copyed it, not nokia or samsung, and this was also the first attemp for a color display. Back to the i450, if it has better sound quality that a walkmen from sony ericsson (hard to believe), then this phone is the best samsung ever made.

this phone has the slide down like the nokia n95 right..... but in he pictures it shows two different slide downs.... one is nice nd blue nd the other is boring white... which one is it really and what is the slide down option??? a speaker or what?? plz reply... thanx..

only 256k colors bu the display is far better than N95 with 16M colors...Samsung makes the best TFT displays..see mobile-review's i450 review and the display is definitely more colorful, bright & vibrant..hope this phone makes it to the marker..N81 is uglier than this one, it has too many buttons & holes..and like most nokia phones, the memory card/connector covers are really ugly...

Bro i think ur wrong, Eldar(MobileReview) just said i450 is "better than N91 in music department". He didnt mentioned that i450 is has better sonic experience.. You know, music department has various meaning. maybe he wanted to say that i450 has better features as a music phone compared to N91.. like, better music player, better equalizers & etc..

Owned Nokias, Sony Ericssons and a Samsung. Dumped the Samsung because of the interface... Gotta go through 5 steps just to delete an item. Doesn't matter what features there are if the interface itself is crap.

After reading the M-R review on this phone. i was surprised that this little thing even outperformed iPhone,N81 and N91 in music quality and performance. another thing was that it's screen even beats N95 in brightness and color reproduction although N95 has a gimmicky 16M color display lol. and built quality is excellent as always :)
