Guys I have the latest firmware(i think so)
i550JPHH2(22-8-2008). I think these firmwares are region specific. The languages preinstalled are: english, french, arabic, persian, urdu.
When i updated my firmware thru service centre, i got this firmware. He told me that there will be a samsung site for firmware update soon, like nokia. It is currently in test phase.

erik7, 21 Sep 2008About the wallpaper again. When I set it to default it give... moreEven I have the same theme preinstalled(It is the latest firmware). Go to Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby mode > Active Standby. Switch active standby ON. Thats it and its gone!

1-Does this phone support automatic email retrieval(in imap4 acounts)? 2-In the phone specs I did nt see (html) in browser does that mean this phone cant view all kinds of net pages? 3-Does the phone have standby mode like nokia e-series on the home screen? 4-Does it have apps like nots,log and connection manager ? 5-Does it have regular internet telephony(am not talking about fring) thanx

About the wallpaper again. When I set it to default it gives me the animated car. I want that off, that's the point. Thank u for the answer btw.

This handset's operating system is same with some nokias(especifically n-series). Is that means applications that can be installed on nokia handsets can be installed on this unit too. Thanks!!!

Gif images doesnt play in the wallpaper instead u need to get a software to play it. I dont know the software, just google it

I can't get rid of the damn wallpaper. I have a choice between a default car going true some city blocks and some image I can pick. It wont play animated gif images even. Is there an option like no wallpaper because I sure cant find it. This is really getting on my nerves now, please help someone. How do I make animated gif to be wallpaper? How do I turn the damn thing off?
