      Hi friends, Yesterday i had a talk with samsung official representatives. They told that spica is right under production and there is no chance of stopping of this model right away. Second thing is the launch of i5800 will take atleast a couple of months it seems, only galaxy i9000 will be in the market in a week or two itseems, so as per them the mobile stores are telling the wrong thing. Today they will inform me where it is available in hyd.

          San, 29 Jun 2010As per my analysis, it was available till 18th Jun, 2010.A ... moreI feel your pain, I've been through exactly the same problem as yours. I've checked nearly all good mobile shops in chennai, but these dumb idiots force you to buy another phone. Half of them have never heard of Android.

          I do know the name of one shop where it is available every week. But, due to high purchases, the dealer asked for an advanced payment from me. If you want I can tell you the name of the dealer.

          i5800 has a lower resoltion I think, and it'll probably be priced higher. So, it is not an option.
          Galaxy S is good, but too pricey for me.

                    Bought this phone in Bangalore after a week ago, after a month's search. For all people who haven't found the phone yet, mail Samsung for its "privilege partners" in your city.
                    As far as the phone is concerned, its brilliant. The app store makes up for any deficiency in factory setup. Totally love it :)

                        As per my analysis, it was available till 18th Jun, 2010.A person had bought it in saravana stores chennai.

                        Seeing his comment i went and checked with the same shop. They say no stock and donno anything abt when this will be available. They have only i7500, 23000. I dont think its a worthy buy at this juncture.

                        For past 1 week i was roaming almost whole of chennai. Almost all shops selling mobiles (big or small).Some of their answers below;

                        Richie street oasis - no stock.
                        Chrome - It is not released yet.
                        Spencers samsung dealer - no stock, no idea when will it come.
                        Univercell - No but, galaxy s will be available in a weeks time.
                        Sangeetha Mobiles - galaxy mobiles will be available after 21/2 months.
                        Wavetel - galaxy mobiles no stock.
                        Samsung dealer in RK saalai - no stock.
                        mobile store - galaxy mobiles stopped.
                        saravana stores - No stock and donno anything abt when this will be available.i7500 is available 23000.

                        So need guys dont waste time in trying these stores. No use, save time.

                        May be Samsung is using great business strategy here,
                        They want to sell their new,
                        galaxy S
                        galaxy 3
                        of higher price. So they are trying to prevent people buying low priced 5700.
                        (or)
                        May trying to sell out the ones with their own OS (BADA) released recently, suppressing Andriod. Business wise makes sense.
                        (or)
                        May be upgrading all 5700s with 2.1 and then distribute in market.

                        Whatever.I want 5700 ... guys found sold anywhere, plz plz plz do inform. I am very eager.

                          Hey, I have a problem managing applications, in the app menu( by pressing that small upward arrow, or drag it up), I have like six pages full of apps, but when I uninstall some of the apps(for example from page 4) then empty spaces are left, the apps on page 5 should move to page 4(replacing the uninstalled apps)..but its not like that, pls. help how to arrange them

                            It has a low processor. I dont this can be upgraded to 2.1.Then why this price still?

                                    This phone was added in Samsung India site a week back. Means its not phasing out. Also dealers are saying, phone is being exported to UK/Europe which is creating a crunch in India.

                                    We all need to wait till supply becomes good.

                                        Android V1.5 does not support Bluetooth file transfer, it supports only bluetooth headset pairing. However Android V2.1 has the bluetooth file transfer support. The update is available in India, so if you get a SPICA with 1.5 get it updated from a service centre!

                                        @Jagan,
                                        I wouldnt advice you to root it just to use your live wallpapers. Rooting has more to it!I guess you are a noob in linux world so i would advice you to get accustomed to Android and linux and may be later you can give a try!

                                        And by the way, live wallpapers drinks your battery a lot!!! choice is yours!
