Vac, 26 Jun 2010Guys which mobile Operator are u using? I am from bangal... moreI m using Airtel gprs on my Spica. works very fine even while roaming. The pack costs Rs 98/- per month and offers 2GB free download. 30p/50kb beyond 2gb usage.

Guys which mobile Operator are u using?
I am from bangalore and Vodafone doesnt have GPRS or any other settings for SPICA!!! (went to a vodafone store, he was clueless!)
I'm planning to switch, so i thought, i would take ur valuable opinion first :)

Is GPS on Spica any good? I read on forums that people have problems with GPS finding location despite satellite visibility. Mentioned problem is also GPS automatically turning off...?
Is Spica usable for getting directions with Google maps. How accurate is it?
There are many wrong specifications on the internet (including this site) about A-GPS support. Official Samsung site says there is no A-GPS support in Spica, only S-GPS. Anyone knows what that means in practice?

You are in the same situation where i was. Jet is a marevelous piece of hardware with a buggy s/w.Infact there is a dedicated forum running for jet in the site called darkforest who clearly mention all the bugs and fix for the same. If you are ok with those bugs :P then you can go ahead and buy JET but beware you dont get any appln support except the java files which is another pain installing in JET.
I was about to buy JET for spica but changed my thought once the update was announced for spica!!!!
if ur still confused you may read my blog at techentrepot!! If it wasnt spica, i would have gone for JET!!!!

Sure will do ganesh,if your interested do keep an eye on my blog.I had earlier synced to my PC using a tool called handset manager but it works only for 1.5 and 1.6 which was pretty nifty. Will share more later...

But you need to share few things for SPICA users, compare few applications that you used in 1.5 and how is it in 2.1. Also have sync with your PC ? I can't my card is only detecting not my phone as such.

lionel, 24 Jun 2010guys wen i save a new contact on my phone and den wen i go ... moreopen the contacts, select menu->display options and from there,in the choose contacts to display colum, select your gmail id which would then list groups of contacts. Check all the contacts.
From there on you will be able to see those contacts.
I hope you get it, all the contacts are grouped and only selected groups are displayed. so select all the groups to display!!!

It is pretty cool. You can choose from a bunch of different compass types and can calibrate them. Very good looking and useful app.

Go to the marketplace and download "Meebo IM." This little program can allow you to chat with anyone who has AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, Meebo, MSN, Myspace, and Yahoo.
If you have 3G on you can keep the program on all the time and chat with your friends who are on their computers or on their phones.

It is foolproof and super easy to do. It takes about 1-2 hours but is super easy. Just make sure you read everything careful and that everything it explains will happen is happening with your phone and you will be all good. Again, it's foolproof. I did it and it was a piece of cake.

The phone is very fast and very good. It is one of the cheapest and best ways to get into the Android Experience. Once I got the phone I automatically upgraded it to 2.1 using guides on the internet. I switched the home interface to hilux launcher (in the market) and all I have to say is WOW. With the new home screen the phone is very fast. At first I thought the 800mghz + 2.1 would slow it down but I was totally wrong.
Everything I've used I've had no issues with. This phone delivers and the screen is great (best quality of samsung products). The call quality is really good too, voice in and out is clear and easy to hear and understand. It is really comfortable when it's on your ear and you barely feel it.
If anyone has any second thoughts about this phone, stop! Just go ahead and get it. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend it to any of my friends.

Hi everyone i bought this model from singapore, i wanted to know whether can i update the OS to android 2.1 eclair as i have 1.5 OS , i asked the customer care ppl in my city , they say it's very risk updating OS as they have INDIAN version os , so i need reply regard this topic........

I wanted to d/l apndroid to my spica. I copied the apk file to my sd card and later then I wanted to install it, my astro file manager had expired. so now Im stuck with as to how to install apndroid to my spica since my EDGE gets activated any time and I loose money (how I still cant get it). I use idea.
any suggetions??

First of all thank you very much for guiding me to the service centre opposite to K4 Police station! I did my update there and they gave me my spica with 2.1 installed. So far its working as a charm, I would defenetly want to share some of the things here this weekend.
Then,In v1.5 if you forget your pattern,there is an option called forgot pattern. If you press that you will be asked with your gmail id and password. Even after giving your correct gmail id and password, it simply refuses to take you into the phone.
The only solution is what i have mentioned below!!!!
I havent tried unlock pattern in v2.1 yet so will check and let u know. I guess that bug is fixed in v2.1!!!!
