Hi all. I bought Galaxy spica yesterday. Now mine is !.5 cupcake. Pls let me know how to get it upgraded to @.1 eclair? Secondly i want to know how to access android market in this phone? previously i was using HTC Dream which had an icon for the market.

Hi frenz. can u please share your experience in using the virtual qwerty keyboard for heavy texting. how smoothly can we use it? is thr any lag?? are there issues with airtel and idea gprs also like vodaphone??
what do u suggest more.. i5700 or i7500??

We cannot open calander if ... moreI have used 1.5 and 2.1 on my I5700.
Calendar works without any problems without network.
You have to setup your google account at least once on your phone so that it can setup Calendar.

I'm experiencing battery dying in my Spica so... moreHey you can do lot of things to increase your battery life. i list some of the things here:
1)Install a Task killer application and whenever your phone is idle just chek to make sure that none of the applications is running in the back ground. If running kill them using the task killer.
2)disable internet:
Use them only when required. unfortunately the only way is to change the APN name in the settings.
3)Enable the option use only 2g in the settings.
4)screen: You may set the screen timeout to say 15 seconds and decrease the brightness. The reason is TFT LCD's require backligting which sucks your battery.
5)You can remove sound/vibrations for your key presses from the settings.
6)Finally when @ the night,when you dont use your phone change the mode to Aeroplane mode(useful if you use the phone as an alarm too) or even switch off(of corse if your sure that you wont get calls)
Now this has to increase your battery back up @ least up by 20-24 hrs. Make sure to create the ignore list for the task killer.

I've been using my spica for two weeks 1.5 cupcake version...it was good I enjoyed it but something happened today, while I was updating my apps. my phone automatically shut down and when I turned it on it won't go to the main screen. I'm just seeing "SAMSUNG" that's it. I'm so disappointed I don't know what to do anymore. I tried removing the battery and turning it on again but same thing happens. PLEASE HELP!!!

If you are going to buy see the box pack for Apr 2010. Mobiles packed on or after Apr 2010 have been packed with 2.1, I bought this last Sunday which is 2.1 using it for 4 days never experienced any crashing problems. Only thing my battery is dying soon. I believe its because that I'm sync with Gtalk and Gmail all time, today I stopped the service in my mobile, will update the status of my battery life tomorrow.

Reading the reviews of this phone really got me excited to go for it. but i hav couple of queries since i m new to android. pls help.
1) Can i install yahoo messenger on this phone?
2) Is qwerty keyboard available while using messenger?
3) Is the virtual qwerty keyboard good for heavy texting?
4) Some users have mentioned that vodaphone gprs won't work on this phone, is the problem same with other mobile operators gprs connection also.

Spica users,
I'm experiencing battery dying in my Spica soon. I believe this is because of my sync with Gmail. Can someone confirm this. If that's the reason, then everything is lost.. We needed this for regular sync with Gmail only.
