As you can see that I5700 was not on the Samsung mobile india website. But Samsung sells the phone in India...

Friends, this model has been stopped. Eariler today I check in this location:

(select e-mail, then select mobile phones-> mobile phone->touch screen) I5700 is not listed there, anyhow I sent mail to them and called Samsung Customer Care they said that this model stopped. Drafting this msg with sadness. Nice phone I missed to buy :(

Abhinav, 11 May 2010Hi David....I will but 7500..only once 2.1 ges confirmed...... moreeven though the internal memory is large,the effective memory to store apps is only about 180-200 mb in all the ANDROID PHONES..anyways we will get app2sd in future updates or u can root the phone..

spica is the best phone I ever used. I can actually make my iphone user friends jealous with this phone. I'm using samdroid 1.03 mod with eclair 2.1. and its super fast. I have setcpu on and custom profiles set so i get 800mhz when it requires. this phone is so loq priced its hilarious. love it :)

Curious: It's samsung s3c6410 arm 11 processor ( http://www.samsung.com/us/business/semiconductor/news/downloads/s3c6410Datasheet_0408.pdf ) which can run at 800mhz . It does perform worse than arm cortex a8 processors such as snapdragon, but at the price of galaxy spica you can't expect much better than that. A friend of mine has this phone and doesn't have any problems with performance

i heard that talktime of... moreHi David....I will but 7500..only once 2.1 ges confirmed....bcs ots worth 1.5-2k...more..for amoled screen....5mp wid flash camera...and internal memory....wch is bigest advantage...considering...android aplication stroes only on ph memory....wch 180 is v low.....
jst only 533 vs 800 processor.....is storng point in favour of 5700....wh i dun knw....hw imp role it plays...

Hi can anyone tell me the name and type of cpu such as is it qualcomm or snapdragon or what sort of processor is it........I have herd that the actual performance of the processor is less than 400Mhz....

Hi,
I went to the Service Centre and got the Upgrade of the phone to Anroid 2.1
But still its showing:
Settings---> About phone--->
Kernal version 2.6.27
Build number CUPCAKE.DDIL1
But I thing its not updraded, please suggest.
Please let me knoe those who have got the upgradation done.

[deleted post]Few more facts/clarifications...pls give ur inpus against each...
1.No Zoom/WB/Exposure settings for camera.
2.bluetooth only for headset(its only for phone calls).cant connect to PC for internet connection, will not support file transfer to PC/other Mobiles.
3.camera is too slow to load.
4.can not view documents like excel, word & .pdf etc, unless you pay for the application from market...
5.no equalizer for music player.
6.sometimes video play back is not smooth...
and can not view small videos in fullscreen...
7.no voice call record by default...(but ,can v install applications from market)
12.there is no password security for msgs,contacts, pic, videos, etc like other samsung phones???
Phew....never done so much of research before...lol..
