1)The Camera doesnt do too well in the dark. Though it has a night mode feature, which helps in dimly lit situations.
2)Media Player has regular features but does not have a great library, or media managing interface. Voice/Video quality is great.
3)Image photo viewing is cool, with easy zooming options, thanks to android. Flicking photos and multi touch not supported. I dont know about Jet or any other silly samsung phones which dont hv android.
4)Pdf/office/excel etc documents gets open and edited. U just need to hv good software like 'Documents to Go', easily available on android market.
5)Office email ids can be configured and received through softwares like 'touch down', and many others that hv microsoft exchange support and are freely available in android market. But that is dependent on GPRS service, and not as reliable as blackberry.
6)PC Suite sucks big time. For data transfer pc suite is not required, but U can use it for backing up contacts.
7)Almost all android games are compatible with this phone.
8)No limit to length of video recording. Depends on SD card capacity. Recording quality is average. Recording stored directly to SD.
This is the best phone at this price point, which is around INR 12K, running on a great platform, that Android. And if u use the android browser, u ll b blown away. Its an experience u can have with no other phone at this price. So, go ahead and buy the freakin thing, I rate it AAA.
Also, dont ask any more questions, if u hv doubts..work ur ass off and search for answers on google!!

1)hows he camera performaance....spcly...in dark...as it doesnt suport flash...
2)hows media player.....features...performance....voice/video quality.....
3)how flexibile is image/photo viewing.....is it customizable....have features like Jet/Arena or any other multimedia phone.
4)can pdf/office/excel etc documents gets open and edited?
5)can we configure...office email ids and get intimation of new mail....just like Black berry?
6)how flexibile and easy to use is its software to connect to pc..like PC suite etc?
7)i saw many android games on net...like quake/Need for speed and many ther 3d games...r they compatible with this phone?
8)how is the video recording of the phone.....when watched in PC.....?..is there any limit to the video cliping we record....like...10 mins or...can we keep recording till we have memory?....also...since the internal memory is low...does the photos/video recording etc stored on local ph memory or can be stored on memory card directly....its imp..as if its first on phone..then we need to transfer the clps/photos to memory...wch means....restrictions in the mins of video recording...
I know...i m seeking too many details...but i need to buy this phone this week....so have to be sure..I am taking the corect decsiion...and thts y seeking experts help....so for nything els..that you guys can help....i b hapy to read...

I tried searching for v2.1 packed set....but everyone is asking to upgrade it via service center.....(does it mk a diff to buy at 1.6 and ourself upgrade frm serivce enter if its free or shal i wait fr few days to get packed 2.1 ver)
also...they are mentioning about Blutooth working about uppgrade version.....i didnt understand this part....
also....i m geting this ph for 12.300 rs...in Delhi...is anyone geting cheaper then this....
i m confused between i7500 and 5700...as former is for 14.200.....so 2k diff is worth 5 mp camera,flash...high internal memory...large 3.5 screen.....need your suggestions...

May be when the updated version of indian firmware comes you can update it.

Anonymous, 08 May 2010any idea why the 2.1 indian firmwire is slower than the uk ... moreThe Indian firmware is of march and UK firmware is of April and I think they might have polished it to improve some more performance. If you see both at the same time u will not notice any performance difference both are smooth with no lag but my perspective was the UK firmware was slightly faster and the video/camera quality of the UK firmware was better. Other than that every thing is same.
In the Indian firmware the progressbar of the video player was not working correctly for some videos but for the UK firmware it was absolutely fine.

Spica comes with brand 2.1 rather than 1.5, that might be the reason why there is no mobiles in Chennai. I guess the shop guys are not aware of this. Anyhow lets see for a week or two so that we might get this.
