MAK, 23 Apr 2010I5700 not available in Delhi infact it is removed from sams... moremay be but this just goes to show why samsung will never be as good as nokia and sony e i use all three i am using i5700 i am very happy with it but the lack of support and upgrade for the phone is worrying .
may be people working at samsung india are just too lazy and do not want to work

I5700 not available in Delhi infact it is removed from samsunf mobile india website.Nor samsung want to upgrade 2.1 firmware in this mobile in India.Beacause they have Galaxy 2 and Galaxy s lined up in the upcoming time.

One query,irrespective of Android support or Skype not available ,isn't possible to have the video calls with one camera itself if camera is movable or infront of a mirror?

Does any one know if this has Andriod v1.5 or 2.1? The specs says both, does it mean the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.1 is possible? And also does v2.1 mean it supports multi touch?

Spica doesnt have a secondary camera,so you cannot make video calls.If thats your requirement then spica is not the one you should go for. But neverthless this phone is worth investing. To know more about this phones pros & cons keep in touch with techentrepot.blospot.com

Probably ur comments has to be directed to "Dev" not me :).You can make video calls through skype and fring in android 2.1(not sure if its available yet)!

As per wikipedia "Android does not support videocalling. However, it is possible if the phone runs an additional UI".
So it's for sure that with 2.1 version ,video calling is not possible.

please answer my concern too. I almost about to buy the handset.
I would like to know, if SPICA can make a 3G video call? It doesnt have secondary camera for it.
If I buy this now, i will stuck to it for couple of years.

1)=>Make sure that your data backgrounding option is disabled.
=>You may decrease your screen brightness to get more juice out of ur battery.
=>Turn off GPS as it consumes lots of battery
=>Charge your phone by switching off the phone & make sure that its charged for 3 hrs.Do this @ lest 3 times after ur battery reaches the lowest limit.
I'v been using this phone for a month or so and iam geting battery backup for 2 days after heavy usage.
2)After connecting your phone to your pc, goto notification in your phone and mount the card to connect it to the PC. After accessing your files. unmount from the same notification area in your phone.
If you want to remove the memory card make sure that you unmount from the phone before you remove.
3)Spica suppports Micro SD or Micro SDHC cards. Make sure that you have properly inserted your cards. The gold color of the memory card should be facing up.
4) The samsung PC suit can be used only for Updating the phone and nothing more can be done which means you cannot use the phone as modem. However you can use the software tether(available in market) to browse from ur notebook.
5)Simple way to delete an sms is to long press the sms, a popup screen with options will be displayed. Simply select delete.

Is the Spica currently delivered with Android 2.1 or 1.5? Does Samsung equip it in the future with 2.1 oder is this ones and for all an update?

I am using Spica for some time.
It is a good telephone to use it as phone.
I am able to browse and see mails.
Google map and GPS work fine.
It is good in these aspects.
Other problems faced by me are as follows.
1. The battery drains so fast. Less than 3 Hrs under moderate talking.
2. It is not able to connect to PC. I have tried the drivers provided by Samsung in the CD and also tried some drivers from the web site. Nothing works for me.
3. This phone does not recognise the memory card installed. The PC also does not read the memory card.
4. This does not get connected to PC. It is doubtful whether it will access internet at all from PC.
5. Will it work as a GSM Modem?
6. To delete one sms we have to do five or six keystrokes. I feel this is too much.

SPICA doesnt have secondary camera for 3G video calling. Anyone has used 3G in SPICA? Can we use Primary camera for 3G video calling?
Keypad doesnt have backlght, does this make it difficult to use it in night?

Get JuiceDefender, to even get further juice out of batter.., it will work for even 1.5 days with fully heavy usage..

keyboard does work in landscape and for installing apps from pc some have tried n works but still advise to you download apps from market place only less chances of geting faulty apps
