GPS Tip's
I found this little tip for the GPS problems on samsung i5801 , Start the gpssetup2 by dialling *#*#1472365#*#* from your phone and after this immediatly press the back button. Now invoke the
google maps or gpstest after this GPS works fine. For me this worked 8 out of 10 times.

harsha...thnx...i tried downloading laputa e book reader, you tube downloader ...both saying download unsuccessfulk in 11 seconds...wht to do?
PS. i havent inserted the sim...using wifi.

My question was whether are you able to synch up your contacts/calendar through Bluetooth using Kies or PC studio or any other application?

Yogu, 13 Sep 2010hi this is yogu... i have got this mobile before 3 days....... morehi yogu, i feel i hv the answer for your 2 con u discussed. i also got relatively poor performance at first couple of days while i just googled abt it and got something to know abt it. the biggest battery hog is the enabled background data option. first make sure u dont use ur net connection all day if u dont really need it ..so switch it off first. then go to settings>accounts and sync>disable background data & auto sync option. u will see a huge improment in your battery back ups. and also make sure u dont enable gps ..bluetooth like services if u dont really need it all the time. i have done that .. and this is the 2nd day and my battery is on 50%.. enjoy!

hi this is yogu... i have got this mobile before 3 days.....and would like to share some of my pros and cons of this mobile which would be useful for the buyers. i have got samsung galaxy 3(i5801) and the price is 12,300.
Pros:
1. Very bright screen.
2. Touch response is great, jus a small touch is enough.
3.The android OS graphics is really inovative i mean the widgets, the shortcuts icons, the notification bar and everything.
4.Swype method is really very easy. first one day struggled a bit and got 65% accuracy. but the third day got more than 95% accuracy. its better you mess in landscape mode with the swype keyboard.
5. The file manager makes the job easier where all the stuffs like bluetooth files, the images, videos gets stored.
6.Mobile tracker works well.
7.Smart dial is really very very good.
8.Ringtone volume is average... Earpiece volume is also average... Not as loud as Samaung Jet......
Cons:
1.I installed some basic android applications like task killer, dictionary, antivirus, etc but as soon as i did that my mobile became very slow. My roration of the acclerometer was very slow. But as soon as i uninstalled all the applications my mobile was fast. So felt very disappointd that i coulnt even download even one application even i have an androir OS mobile.
2. I am not satisfied with the battery performance. It doesnt even last for 24 hours, which is the most pathetic part in this mobile.
The above mentioned are the main two very big cons of this mobile.... if anyone can tell me an alternative for the above mentioned cons i will be thankful to you....my rating would be 6 out of 10 for this mobile...bye guys

anju, 13 Sep 2010harsha...i got this phone today...tell me what i shud do re... morehi.
for gps you just switch on the gps button and hold the mobile in the place where you can see open sky.and use my navigation or Google maps and press my location to track up.(Google maps get lock soon).
2.task killer is am application which you get in android market its same as task manager.you are really in need of that application or something same as it to rate your battery.(as there won't be close or end button for any application in android just you get out me them switching application or pressing back so they will be running in the back ground)

1.Apollo(according to you i5801) has orange application store we don't 2.it has orange sticker instead of Google at back but our set has Google sticker only.3. it has orange maps, orange tv and orange push mail which are not there on over mobile.
2.you are just right on one thing just the porter shown on gsm arena's page.
3.our Bluetooth device is 2.1 and in any they give 2gb memory card which is not there in both the set.
4.i am not saying our mobile is i5800 i am saying our mobile is gt-i5801 which is the downgraded Indian version of i5800

i5801 means an UK model galaxy Apollo but i5800 is downgraded to Indian model gt -i5801

is typing comfortable and accurate in l... moreyes its more them enough spacing for a qwerty.
over it you have 3more ways to type as T9, swipe and 2 types me handwriting recognition.so you can use what ever suits you

Hi Guys,
I is it coming in complete black body?
When I inquired in 2-3 shops in Bangalore, they have shown me black body with silver color strip around the phone, but on net I can see that phone has black strip not the silver one. Bit confused.
