Opera Mini uses a proxy whereas Mobile doesn't, making Opera Mini much faster, at the expense of routing your data via Opera's servers, in case you're a privacy nut.

Recently purchased the Samsung i7500 (unlocked), from "popularelect.com". Price was $585.00. Removed the SIM card from my Nokia 1680, and used it in the i7500 - the damn thing works!! I only have voice at the moment. I'll pick-up a data plan when T-Mobile is ready. The WiFi works great in the interim.
There's no need to wait for T-Mobile. I'm sure they're manipulating release dates to purge their HTC 'myTouch' inventories based on initial market projections, and HTC release agreements. If you're willing to wait, I'm sure you'll get the phone much cheaper under contract, but life is too short - I'm sporting the new i7500 today, and it's turning heads.

Opera is not available on the android platform, but Opera is woking on it, AFAIK there is no beta yet.

Does anyone know if The Galaxy will support the 1700 AWS 3G Network from T-Mobile USA. I see it in the specs but has anyone in the USA imported this phone and has run it 3G with T-Mobile here in the states? Thats the only thing holding me back from importing this phone. and how about putting the HERO Rom on it? will that it run sluggish or smoothe like the My Touch 3g? Thanks...

Nik, 27 Aug 2009Does it support Opera Mini?hi it does support opera mini,actually im using it write now to post this comment,hehe.its better than normal browser if you want to stop images from loading and stuff.but normal browser on galaxy is also very good.
and for guy with google account problems,yes you have to have google account to be able to access android market, calendar. so just create it first time you boot or if you skip then you have to set the phone to factory settings

congratulation to samsung could defeat htc dream,htc magic and htc hero in sales..samsung i7500 has been sold 1 million in the world while htc dream,magic n hero has only sold 800.000 in the world..when will i7500 be released in indonesia??

Acog sniper, 26 Aug 2009The phone will be exclusive to o2 for first 4 weeks i work ... moreyeah you do work for O2 and its obvious from what you say.still trying to persuade people to buy iphone,lol?i own samsung galaxy for about 2weeks now and dont say its any slower if not faster than iphone.my friend has iphone 3g and believe me or not after i let him play with my phone he said he wants to get one too.and android being young means plenty of improvement over software and firmware so with donut and esclair things for iphone may look very dull,hehe.

128mb ram tats sucs if it was at least 288mb that would be fine but 128 sems very low bumer

The phone will be exclusive to o2 for first 4 weeks i work for o2 i know this :) it should be released in next 2 weeks samsung rep could not confirm. As for performance everything is goid but slower than the iphone to open apps etc but only by a few seconds. The main draw back for me is the browser is not as good as iphone. This phone has more freedom and with apps like beeb tv can watch live tv without wifi. If i had to pick this or iphone its still iphone for me as browser keeps it at top spot.

I own an HTC hero and i had to root it to add arabic fonts, but it's still not good as it works only in meft to right mode and letters are unconnected.

hi to all i see no one here has this phone,but i guess im one of the lucky ones to own it for a week already and all i can say i love it.great design 198mb of ram doesnt affect fone at all as its down to processor but if you open gazillion widgets then it'll slow down but anyway galaxy is very fast and downloaded many apps including compass today wil try Ndrive gps navigation.installed hero keyboard which is way better than stock android keyboard.camera is very good but i think flash has timing problems but i bet it'll be easy to repair with firwmare upgrade.all in all the phone is sooo good especially the AMOLED display.people if you want 2buy it go to ebay.de and wil be lucky as i am to have bought for 320pounds.damn im lucky arent i.if you have any questions ask ill try to reply
