Thanks to Samsungs crappy tech support, I am now an expert at flashing ROMs and tweaking their phones to work good.
I like Samsung but don't recommend it to people who are afraid of tweaking.
Best phone I ever had is the INNOV8 and tweaked it to perfection.
Have ordered the OMNIAII and I guess I will be doing the same with it.

This is a very complicated bit of kit, but take time and it really impresses. Mine is now doing nearly everything I want, very smoothly and quickly. What it is not managing is down to me. The more I use it the more intelligable it becomes and the deeper the satisfaction.

The phone out of the box is the best WinMo experience I had in the last 5 years. Starting from build quality, sturdiness, screen (size, resolution, colors), speed (800 MHz, scalable), memory, camera, battery. The things I dislike are mostly add-on software based (I preffer base WinMo vs TouchWiz and other Samsung add-ons) but luckily these can be disabled. The other is lack of proper D-Pad, but I see this is definitely developing trend among manufacturers. In this case, luckily there is sufficient number of hardware keys (camera, and two programmable: back button and cube) so you don't have to go into menu to start camera. All in all - Way to go, Samsung!

Omnia User Philippin, 12 Jan 2010Let me just say first and foremost that I love my Omnia II.... morei totaly agree with you. i got the omnia 11, and rang samsung on a questiion about how do i get the battery bar back in the status bar. well...................... after a long wait and several attempts of asking different people i sorted it out myself. samsung tecnical people are not there to support you they are only there to keep you hanging like a dog.in future i will try and sort things out myself rather then ring people who live and work in la la land.
