Anonymous, 15 Dec 2009Totally agree, and I have had a run in with Samsung on the ... moreI bought the omnia II a mth ago and did not use it till last week when i went to the service center to upgrade it to wn6.5. The sms can't rotate at all n i thought it was normal. So on sunday while shopping around there n i thought just walk in to the samsung service center to make enquire on hw to rotate my hp while sms.... i hand over my hp to the counter n they do a checking for me. I nearly drop my head when they told me my new omnia II had software problems n tt y my sms can't rotate n my compass can't work also cause it got hardware problems.... So they did some setting n do a hard reset for me n told me tt my hp is fine nw n the fault resolved... I tested the sms in the center n it work n it rotate... So i thought everything is fine nw n problem solve. When i get home, I try sms n it can't rotate again... On monday morning i went dw to the center n told then about the same problem again n dis time, they tell me tt they must reload all the software again cos it is faulty. Fine.... I left my hp at the center for them to fix up everything... they called me in the evening n told me tt my hp is ready for collection n everything resolved. Upload of software n change of lcd. So i went down to the center w a happy mood to collect my hp. When it is my turn to collect my hp, the counter gal tested it for me n realised tt the sms can't rotate... She n the center manager was at a lost of words.... i am just so dissappoint with dis hp.... I sent an email to samsung hq n they reply me n agree w the fault n wl change a new hp for me.. Now i am waiting for my new hp then i will see how is it... very disappointing...

I can get my phone to rotate sor email and sms but not word which, as you say is useless. I think there are applications you can download to rectify this, but I am not confident of doing so.
Also I cannot get my phone to update via the disk or web. Again Samsung know about it but are doing nothing. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Help would be appreciated from those in the know.
Reall shame about these issues as otherwise the phone has many attributes.

CAN ANYONE explain Samsungs decision to cripple the rotating function in the OMNIA 2 fone ???
The rotating feature only works with Camera and Web browser NOT any Business Apps such as WinMo6,5 MS Office Word and Excel.
Samsung and Telstra inform me that Samsung made a decision NOT to enable this rotating feature. This feature works fine on a Om1 so why NOT OM2 ??
This is not a Business Solution fone without this feature.
What is the point of increasing the screen real-estate and the removing the rotaing feature in Word and Excel?
So its a retrograde step !!!!!!!!!

anonymous, 13 Dec 2009Opera Apps for Omnia 2 is totally a " Pocket Drowner ".... ... morethat's kinda of true. thats where i keep getting error and a hang once until i need to unplug battery to off.
I.E works most of it.
Well we gotta keep checking whats new apps out there to upgrade to make it work!

alot of chips made from korea n taiwan xD
well i just got my omnia2 and yeah you cant push it too much or else it will hang! i havent go upgrade to 6.5 tho.
i was browsing then i press another button and it freeze fora while then i tried to off the screen using the lock button and then I tried to unlock it back and the screen wont turn back on. Have to unplug&plug the battery back to switch it on.
for those that keep experiencing hang or bad lags, remember to close all TASK under task switcher. Or set the X button to execute QUIT task instead of "minimize"
phew!! will try to see the differences after i upgrade to 6.5 and share with all =)

i already post this question into this forum but i want to know more personal views comments and experts who uses the HD and OMNIA II....my money its getting there so i want know which is better for daily basis ....from software to battery and from application to FLASHING to a NEW ROM thanks in advance...kabayan here...

with the AMOLED screen at 720x480, the video is quite sharp and fluid with the CPU performance set to HIGH and not a bunch of apps open.

i like O2; specially the screen; Despite the fact that the screen is more resistive then capacitive!

you cant flick to change the tracks. if you're watching a vid, it will auto rotate to both the left and the right. definitely nice to use. especially when you watch vids on the phone. TOTALLY AWESOME!

I bought Omnia 2 1 month ago,
and i was planning to buy HTC HD2,
but when i got it and used it alot
and also battery lifetime is great and very long,
i can say it's the best Win Mobile for 2009
compared to HTC HD2 with 1GHz processor and 448MB RAM.
this is the best phone i ever bought in my life and i'll wait OMNI 3 ;)

Looks like most of you got good phones....
Can anyone tell me hjow to update to winmo 6.5? Is it hard or time consuming? I need something to be able to get online...Samsung nor I can get this to work and they suggested I need to wait for Samsung to fix operating system or until 6.5 is here.
Thanks guys...hope someone helps....in simple English please as I am not a techie

If anybody can tell me how to rotate the screen in sending sms (landscape) because my Omnia 2 is not rotating in sms landscape beside that this cp is funtastic i love to have this cp verything working perfect congrat.. samsung and merry xmas to all.

Its an all rounder phone. Jack of all trades. Some outstanding features too ... camera, video, amoled screen, battery standby/talk time and winmo6.5,
Great phone, probably the best phone for 2009. This is what phones should be done ... hope to see Omnia III in 2010. Cheers and happy holidays folks!

i'm so-so agree to all of user says that this is the great phone ever all over the 2009, this things beat iphone, htc, or even blackberry.
after i sold it coz it's winmo 6.1 for 2 months, now i'm missing it again and soon i wiil buy omnia 2 again version 6.5. coz there's no such a thing of device can be like omnia 2! not too expensive, but maximum performance.

It is blatant lie to claim that the battery is not good.
Actually it is one of the phone's strongest points and the reason, no HTC and most of the WIMO competitive devices cannot be compared with it!
My main issue with this phone is the very difficult internet settings, at least in 6.1 (You need to change settings every time you want to use WIFI)
And the incopatibility with players that can run subtitles!
