apparently no Win7 Upgrade for the i8000 n there's alot of complaints on the i9000 page....both phones seem to have major short comings...(gps, screen burn-ins & mono radio? WT*?)

Bro would u recommend any droids 4r me to look into? like the motos or htcs?

    Here are the cons and the pros of Samsung OMNIA II and I9000 Galaxy;

    FOR OMNIA II;

    Pros;

    1.) It has 3.7-inch resistive AMOLED touchscreen
    2.) It has Dual LED flash.
    3.) It has built-in GPS with A-GPS functionality
    4.) It has 16GB internal memory + microSD card slot up to 32GB.
    5.) It has DNSe audio technology and SRS sound effect
    6.) It has DivX/XviD video playback
    7.) It has Office document editor
    8.) Full Flash support in the web browser
    9.) It has Wifi

    Cons;

    1.) No xenon flash.
    2.) 65K color limitation of display results in banding in color gradients.
    3.) Sometimes browser has issues with Flash support.
    4.) Sometimes the phone freezes

    FOR I9000 GALAXY;

    Pros;

    1.) It has 16M-color Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.
    2.) it has Android OS v2.1 with TouchWiz 3.0 UI customization
    3.) It runs 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird CPU.
    4.) It has 720p HD video recording at 30fps
    5.) It has Wifi
    6.) It has GPS with A-GPS connectivity; Digital compass
    7.) it has 16GB internal storage. + microSD slot up to 32GB
    8.) It has Bluetooth v3.0
    9.) It has 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery long battery life 10.) It has Great audio quality
    11.) Document editor
    12.) It has Swype predictive text input
    13.) It has excellent choice of preinstalled applications.


    Cons;

    1.) It has no Flash support for the web browser
    2.) It has no flash for the camera
    3.) It has No dedicated camera key
    4.) The all-plastic body is a real fingerprint magnet
    5.) It has Feeble loudspeaker
    6.) Its FM radio is mono-only

      Well the speaker is good bec. it has SRS WoW
      HD but when you connect the earphone the sound quality is the best and about the Samsung wave S8500 the speaker is good too, so its your choice my friend bec. all Samsung phones are good... hope this helps...

        it is very slow!
        it take about 5 sec or more to open any SMS message.
        battery life is very small, and need to recharge them each day.
        but its camera and AMOLED display is good.

                    Hey Guys!I want to share some.As a inquisite person I hard reset my phone and once its restarted I was shocked to know that my omnia2 lost signals I called my network help line and there were no network issue it was samsung hardware failure now I m reality helpless and dont know what to do with my phone.Samsung phones have reliability issue and this my second bad experience with samsung phone.Really Helpless.

Indeed samsung really screwd up a nice piece of hardware(the memory management sucks big time), but with a custom rom from modaco it will rock :). I also had a shock when i bought it, but now it's more than ok. Look around on modaco and you will see :P.

                          For ALL OMNIA Users;

                          Well if you hard reset your OMNIA II the original default setting for exmaple if your OMNIA II is Winmo 6.1 when you hard reset your OMNIA II it will be Winmo 6.1 but if you have already upgraded your OMNIA II to winmo 6.5 when you hard reset your OMNIA II it will be still Winmo 6.5 and the changes only when you hard reset your OMNIA II that has winmo 6.5 is that the original default settings for Winmo 6.5 will come back to its original settings for exmaple the Main Storage will be 60.35Mb again, that's only one example...

                          Here's the step how to Hard reset your OMNIA II, if you want it to restore its original default settings or if somethings go wrong for example you have deleted some applications inside the Windows, so you need to hard reset your OMNIA II, well here's the Steps in how to hard reset your OMNIA II;

                          Step 1: Go to Settings

                          Step 2: Go to Memory Settings

                          Step 3: Go to Clear Memory

                          Step 4: Tap the "Clear Memory"

                          Step 5: It will asked you 'Are you sure you want to manufacture default? Enter '1234' and press Yes to conform"

                          Step 6: If Yes press 1234 and if No press Cancel

                          Step 7: Wait for a few seconds for the Windows screen to appear

                          Step 8: After the Windows screen comes out, tap the button and align your screen...

                                    there are no centers here in Edmonton. i am in Canada, but my phone is from UK. nps is saying my phone is not supported. what do you think?

                                      Omnia II has a built-in GPS receiver ok and OMNIA II comes with google maps and you can check the "Manage GPS automatically" so that you wont need to fixed the settings... hopes this helps you out my friend and just message me out if you have problems again ok my friend...
