is there any other way to update without using apollo....current firmware is i8510djhj4....i have tried pc suite but to no avail

THE mp3 result was not the end of the battery this was only till it entered emergency mode as i call it..Ive just called mate for 5 mins 23 secs and its still going,,i set the mp3 test going 12hrs 30 mins ago,

What I did the other day , was run a full length film ''The Deer Hunter'' in repeat mode when I went to bed. I slept 7.5 hours and it was still playing when I woke up with about 2 bars showing on the battery meter.

Mp3 test result = 11hrs 35 minutes..
Equaliser setting rock and volume 9..How anyone could listen that loud is a bit deaf so using lower volume and different settings will increase that result..I got 6.5hrs mp3 playback on n958gb..

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009 i know but when i connect my cell to apollo while holdin 7... moreI hear you,,but have not used apollo so cannot help you ,,the only point i can see is you said about modem..Well most network providers disable or do not allow fones to be used as modems it impacts on other buisness revenue like then dongle only contracts for laptops,,check your provider has not diabled your modem feature..

Most new high tech fones just last the day at heavy use..Then at night when you go to sleep charge it..If your on the road then their are solutions ie car charger,,battery packk,,if you stay in hotel whilst on buisness the hotel has electricity..I think that when reading forums a lot complain it only lasts 2-3 days,,well thats good isnt it ??? Mobiles maintain a continuous connection to a network and have the timepiece inside continually at work which are a constant drain on battery..
This innov8 gives 6.5hrs full screen video playback thats over triple my laptop life..The mp3 test is nearly done from me but all in all the innov8 is one of the better performers on the market..
To save power,,
Turn briteness down to minimum for you,mines at 50% ,
Set backlight to 20 secs and dim for 5 secs,,if you need longer just press a button to star light again..This works because thru out the day people often check their mobile for mssges or the date and time and if your backlight set for a long time it all adds up over the day impacting battery life,,
Turn off bluetooth and wi-fi search and use gsm mode,,this can double or triple battery life,,
In messaging turn off cell broadcast which updates fone often with area location code,,
Turn off service message as in 10 years ive never seen a message delivered thru this service..
This will help maximise battery life..

people i have pc suite version 7.2.24.9 and the firmware of my phone is i8510djhj4....when i ask the pc suite to update it says that firmware is uptodate......can someone help me updatin the firmware....Thankss in anticipation

You can download and install X-Plore FREE .. Google it.
It allows you manipulate lots of things unavailable with file manager.
The unregistered version is NOT disabled only have to wait 3 seconds before it opens and closes out.
Also for everyone here, JBtaskman is great and install it and make sure that ''screen capture' is not running in standby mode. It saves battery also and I can't see that it really does anything when active .
2 more tips to save battery. Turn Theme Effects OFF.
Also turn off optical mouse.
Makes the phone MUCH faster also.

For all these people here that CONTINUALLY keep asking what is better..............READ thru ALL the posts here.
Look at it this way. If you bought all separate components.
1. Navigation system -150 Euros
2. IPOD- 150 Euros
3. 8MP camera- 150 Euros
I use the NAV system a lot because I drive a lot all over Europe and it talks me to any address in Western Europe.
The music player and speakers are better than any IPOD.
The camera is better than my 5 year old 3 MP camera.
So, why don't you all read the posts here.
There are all kinds of tips to get long battery life.
