I am from Davao city, Philippines and I just bought this phone. it is very great with 9 Lumen brightness up to 50 inches in dark room settings. you can actually root the phone to improve the performance.

the goods are:
-projector/visualizer; (up to 52 inch)
-hd video recording;
-8mp photo taking;
-very strong touchlight;
the odds are;
-english language setting only;
-cpu 720mhz is consider slow; (fixable)
-no video call on andriod apps; (tango, fring, skype)
-bulky; (if you don't mind)
-no firmware upgrade; (samsung kies does not support it)

If you are considering of the projection features only, then you are recommended to buy it.

just bought my beam last week from mustafa in singapore and the next day i can see white spots on the projector. sent it to samsung service centre the next day and they replaced something in the phone. after another day of usage the white spots are back and multiplying! i will send the phone back to samsung service centre again argggh!
this is a very nice phone if only they fixed the defects before selling the units! and a faster processor is definitely needed.

In India you can get projector mobile for $150 .The mobile is from Spice

hi i am from india .my frz is purchase the beam 8520i from singapore. he given tome with warranty card now i am using in india. unfortnately my mobile was switched off when i am use the projecter now it is not charging and also not oning i show the showroom in indai and they told it is mother board problem now i have a any solution

will it ever be sold here in the Philippines?...with warranty? There is one store selling here in san juan but without waranty and its scary to buy high end phones without warranty. We hope that Samsung Philippines imports this. It would be really useful in school and at work, especially for emergency presentations.

can somebody help me. My galaxy beam is encountering problem on the idle mode. when the screen saver turn off, I cannot switch it "ON" unless I remove the battery, that's the only way I can switch ON the phone. I buy it at starhub northpoint.. They advise me to bring it to the service center, but it happens one day after I purchased it...
