sadmanh, 15 Oct 2010WinMo7 looks good & all but I find the main menu a bit ... moreWindow 7 basically is Zune Phone which never made it in market. I buy Zune and give it away free. Wished win 7 would of worked and not lack of all these specification and capabilities so we had more options in buying smartphone. My good guess is Microsoft will have an quick upgrade for Win 7.

This OS is a joke. Why Samsung or HTC put money to develop new phone with this OS Window 7 which they know chances of selling is less than 10%? All of the lack of capabilities been already listed many times on this site. Right now nothing can beat iPhone, Blackberry or Android. Other manufactures are straggling. if it was not for Android HTC would of been suffering badly too.

Is this OS a big joke? Destined for DOOM.. Who in this world of open source would look another phone like iphone which is highly proprietary, doesn't let you use expandable power of memory cards, does not let file transfer thru bluetooth and the worst that for this OS benchmark processor speed is bare minimum hence you can imagine the performance it will give you. I always wondered that MS always tries to occupy maximum resources of any system. When RAM got jumped to 128 Mb SYSTEM use more than 50 mb for its running. now when systems are having 3 or 4 gb more than 1gb is used by WINDOWS 7. God bless MS

@ pastech what are you talking about battery size to same hardware wp7 beats Android compare HTC desire to HTC mozart, the other thing to note is these are best figures so Android just turns everything off once you have it updating Facebook and pushing emails Android falls over esp with multitasking this kills battery life. Android fanboys are getting as bad as Apple ones. Ps I'm writing this on a HTC desire so don't think I'm a Windows fan

WinMo7 looks good & all but I find the main menu a bit confusing, also that much side scrolling is not user friendly. Overall the UI is made like one huge messy table, nothing seems to be organized & an option to do it doesn't seem to be available either.

PaSTech, 14 Oct 2010I've noticed a trend, ALL the NEW phones running Windows 7 ... moreBald claims, full phone specifications haven't been released and your conclusion is based on default/unknown info. Windows phone is most battery optimized mobile OS and lack of multitasking confirms that.
I have used this phone and experience is amazing, so much better than HTC Desire or Incredible.
Also, this phone has exchangeable internal microSD card as the most of WP7 lineup.

Well, i have some opinion about your battery life. this phone display is Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors and screen Size(480 x 800 pixels and 4.0 inches) is excellence but battery life is so bad (Standard battery, Li-Ion 1500 mAh)your company so should be increase from 1500 mAh to 3500 mAh)is the best.

I've noticed a trend, ALL the NEW phones running Windows 7 have got MUCH shorter battery life (Stand-by & Talk-time), than the similar handsets with the Android OS...
Windows 7 Mobile is obviously resource intesive, when compared to Andoird/Symbian/iOS.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2010"There are some limitations though – we didn’t see RDS... moreActually, my apologies for the reaction. I found this on Microsoft's WP7 site:

"To switch between speaker and headset modes
1 While playing a station, tap and hold the station number.
2 Tap Radio mode: headset or Radio mode: speaker to switch between the two options."

I think GSMArena reviewer has missed this feature, but I forgive him/her because Microsoft has made it so counter-intuitive that you HAVE to read the documentation just to find out. Couldn't Microsoft just put a speaker/headphone button somewhere like the bottom-right corner or something?

Still from the looks of it, I'm probably going to stick with Android. I like the social concept of WP7, but to have my smartphone too limiting on me, is something I wouldn't like.

"There are some limitations though – we didn’t see RDS or an option to play the sound through the headphones (their cord serves as an antenna) – the sound always comes out of the loudspeaker."

What? Radio ALWAYS on loudspeaker?! Who wants to listen to FM radio on loudspeaker? C'mon it's supposed to be a phone, not a 1980 vintage radio...

For a moment I considered this phone.. No thanks Samsumng. I'll wait for HTC's Desire HD.

And GSMArena, you must be mentioning this as the FIRST disadvantage in your review... WP7-related or not.

eko, 13 Oct 2010U know the first android n iphone also lack of everything, ... moreThat's funny. Why would anyone watching Apple first lack features then release updates to add them want to do the same?

Unless it's some marketing gimmick of course. (That could explain why Google did the same with Android.) Get the phones released, have people complain about not being able to copy/paste for 2 days, push an update that enables copy/paste.

Some inside guy will leak the following info a week later: The copy/paste feature was already built in WP7, but disabled so that it can be later enabled via an update at the right time to boost market.
