My 5.l channel is working great, but you have to hack or flash to get it. The iphone does not compare. 4 out of the 6 persons I hang with to work has iphones and this is the only phone I have ever heard them say was better. This plays formats the iphone cant play, plus multimedia wise this phone does it all. I play almost every video format with no problems. The iphone cant come near the formats this phone can play. The iphone's speakers are low and it does not have standard 3.5mm headphone jack output. The clear choice for music and also video is the SOHD.
    Upgrading the headphones is not a big deal atleast you have options, with the iphone you don't.

      mj, 13 Feb 2010just wanna ask how to hack this phone?Mj: It is better to flash to HyperX 2.02 than it is to hack. Flashing gives you more memory, more speed, tweaks to the Cam, 5.1 surround channel enable. 3d task manager, Kinetic strolling, My media, kastor effects and its fully hacked. The process is also less complicated than hacking.

SOHD sound quality sucks coz he headphone sucks big time ...I wonder wat is samsung thinking when they attached this earphone along with the phone , it dun even support stereo ... Get a decent earphone or maybe any of the music edition earphones from NOkia and u will notice the difference ...

                          Dude, the audio quality is not at all OK !! its superb, maybe you dont know how to tweak the settings.. And playback, i have never experienced any glitches while playing.. About pics, i have found out that if you keep ISO at 100 the pics come out real nice..
                          I personally have an I phone, 5800XM and omnia-hd.. None compares to this beast.. And regarding satio camera, it way poor than ours.. I have had a chance to use my friends satio, and he is horribly repenting for his buy !!!
                          Themes are the best part, may be you have not hacked your phone still.. Do it and open the world of wonders.. Good luck !!

                            1.Sound is very good, 5.1 works great, and it is more than loud after some advanced settings..

                            2.The video-recording is really good (records at 21-22fps), especially during day time, and no probs with playback.. Sound quality in video is said to be bad, but personally i have no probs with it, and also you can improve it by advanced settings and changing your firmware..

                            3.No probs with any theme or app once you have hacked your phone..(it does no harm, i hacked my phone on the very first second i bought it..)

                              but it's OK !
                              U might need to buy in-ear sony headphone which will definitetly improve the music quality even more.Taking pics is great but the problem comes to recording as it has poor audio quality and a dropped frame in HD Recording which gives the feeling of non-smooth playback when viewing ur recordings.Themes are OK ! So if ur main concern is high quality music GO FOR THE iPHONE.If you want better camera, go for SOHD despite the defects as samsung's cam is way way ahead of that of iPHONE 3GS.

                                        @Soulchild - Infact the C: memory remain the same as it was before. (I changed from ver 2.0 to 2.02)However, after using this version for few hours I found that the previous version was much more stable than this newer one. I feel the speed is bit slow also and freezing is also there. So I am planning to go back to 2.0.
