i have tried to flash the phone to latest italian,russian, and hong kong firmwares. Everytime i record videos, the audio always have a "hissling or loud background noise". Does anybody know why? thanks.

i downloaded touch piano app for omnia hd and it worked..the volume is quite low though..but works anyways..good to play with it..

u can use a screen guard on your cells display because it does not makes any difference in its responsiveness because a capacitive screen works through the heat coming from your fingers and a screen guard cant stop that heat even a thick polyethene cant stop it,check it yourself,currently i am using a local screen guard and it does not makes any difference,bye

rohit sahab i had omnia hd and i have installed plenty of softwares and games on it including java and unsigned.this phone supports all the symbian 3rd edition software meant for cells like nokia n91,n93,n95.n96.
just go to http://funmaza.com/helloox_symbian_hack.html and they will show u how u can get a pc software to sign unsigned sis,like i had. and if u ll find any problem ragarding that procedure or using that software after downloading that plz mail me on my emai id '' lion_boy806@yahoo.com'' or sms me on my mobile no ''+919419750278'' [bsnl].and i also had hundereds of softwares and games,applications and v.v beautiful themes for omnia hd to share, and one more thing frnd whenever it says application not compitable with phone continue anyway just press yes coz out of 100 aplications which displays this error 96 works perfectely and smoothly and u can use a screen guard on ur cells display coz it doesnt makes any difference in its responsiveness becoz a capacitive screen works through the heat coming from ur fingers and a screen guard cant stop that heat even a thich polyethene cant stop it,check it urself,im using a local screen guard and it doesnt makes any difference,bye

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2009thankyou very much im now positive - i am going to have to... morehe anonymous i m a big big nokia fan,but now i had purchase omnia hd and its outsdanding,i has excellent speakers and if u ll purchase a transend 3.5 mm earphone ur ears will blast coz its v.v powerful,i had downloaded ice age 3,iron man,hell boy 2 xvid movies and beleive me the are looking 4 times clear than a normal t.v,more over when u ll download 'Digia@Web_2.0.2'' web browser application u ll be stunned coz i m using it for last 3 months and it never never crashed any website it v.v fast,in short i dnt have words to praise it,i m the x user of nokia e90,apple 3g and nokia n93,my girlfrnd had nokia n97,all these cells stands nowhere to it,and apple sucks infront of it.so bro. go for it

The recorder didnt work on my hd, it installed properly but during the call when i tap on record the other party's voice muted and it didnt record any thing...
I just uninstalled it

Guys this phone's audio recorder wont record on demand voice calls...
if you tap on the voice recorder during a call a popup comes and says: "voice recorder cannot be used during call"

I had asked this earlier to mIke but I guess I need your help.
Can you try one thing out for me. When there is an incoming or an outgoing call; just go to the inbuilt voice recorder (while you are talking) and switch on the voice recording. Please see if that way the conversations get recorded and saved after the call is over!!
My earlier N82 also didn't have a call recorder but I often applied this tactic to record calls whenever I had to. It worked simply great throughout

However I am really surprised that Samsung phones allow only 30 seconds of voice recording. Thats really crappy if true.
CAN SOMEONE WHO OWN'S THE OMNIA HD CONFIRM THE AMOUNT OF VOICE RECORDING IT ALLOWS IN IT'S DEFAULT RECORDER

With some other Samsung phones you do get the option to record calls, but there is a time limit of 30 or 60 seconds only...this is of course stupid, why only 30 seconds when you have at least 70 megs onboard and another minimum of 2 GB on your memory card ???
I got an email just now telling me that it is Samsung's policy NOT TO ALLOW call recording...how crazy is that ?
Why not ?
Call recording is a GREAT feature to have on a phone, it has such a small footprint and is very useful to play back conversations later.
Anyway in Finland they do not think like the Koreans and that is why Nokia DOES ALLOW call recording and there are many third party applications, like TotalRecall, Ultimate Voice Recorder, ALON MP3 etc that you can download which enable you to then record a phone conversation, not for a silly 30 seconds but for unlimited time.
The Omnia is a great phone but when manufacturers distate to me, the consumer, what I am ALLOWED and what I am not, then I do not buy their product.
