xtra, 31 Aug 2009hey Saurav if u r using this phone can u pls tell me about ... moreWhen I first looked at the device I was just amazed,rather feared. It looked too big,but gradually it got easier and now I can easily hold it in my hand,the weight is not much. And the material used by Samsung specially on the back cover ain't that good,it's all plastic. But I am not bothered about it,it's a multimedia power house,that's it. We can't ask for everything in a device,do we?

The Omnia is best suited for camera-centric people as it has a 8 Megapixel camera and has great video perfomance at 720p(HD videos). It is also a multimedia phone with great video playback, music, etc. The Omnia II sports a 5 megapixel camera that's also capable and is also a great phone. I hope this helps. You can also do a comparisin of the two phones within the GSM Arena site...

It is big first of all (tall indeed)
It is made with plastic so not so classy.
The weight is normal for its size.
BUT the screen is simply "STUNNING". Best in the world along side with omniaII.

BTW-Guys/Gals 4m India,Can you please confirm which firmware version does your Omnia HD have? Mine is DDIG3. This FW has a lot of bugs like-Web browser STOP button,WiFi auto disconnect,No Sunday option in Calender etc...so just check your's and let me know

hey can anyone give me some idea about HD body coz b4 i used samsung gadget it was like a kids toy, i don't wane spend good money to buy a toy body, the only thing which stop me to buy this phone is the body, i want a good heavy body not a phone which is just lite. hope anyone wil response on my comment. thanks

as i can see all people are asking your ... morehey,
you're talking about two very diffrent kind of phones.
As you know Omnia HD is a symbian based phone and its more media phone then a business phone like the Omnia 2 which is a winmo 6.1 based device.(upgradeable to 6.5)
Both are monsters in thier classes. You should decide which one is more adequate to you. A monster multimedia recorder/player or a monster pocket pc?
Unfortunately, i havent had any experience with a winmo phone nor the iphone(ecxept 2weeks hands on iphone 3g)
So lets talking about my HD pros/cons and comparing some technical specs(available on this site) between them:
Honestly, I havent seen such a beautiful picture on any phone's display like the omnia HD before, never.
It sports AMOLED with the resolution of WQVGA(W stands for wide(360*640pxls) 16m colors)but lets say this resolution is less amazing on a huge 3.7" display. still great while whatching movies/pics but you may notice pixels while reading a text or something.
Omnia 2 has similar size display again AMOLED with better resulution WVGA (480*800pxls) BUT with 64k colors, which means less vivid colors then the HD.
HD touch feedback is so cool, much like the iphone you just brush your finger slightly on the display and it's responce is so fast. The HD display is multi task while iphone is multi touch capable.
hardwares on both phone are more or less the same(omnia 2 has a bit more speedy cpu and its made by samsung)
response of HD is so fast which i never seen on a symbian phone before.
finger print is kind of issue on HD display specially under the sun things are more invisible with greasy display,lol.
But iphone is better in this regard cause it has lcd display which is far better under sunlight, but HD has far better blacks and more vivid colors indoors, ...
Both audio and video quality are great on HD as well as quality camera 8mp still and HD720P@24fps/D1@30fps video shooting.
But the omnia 2 has 5mp+D1 video.
And finally lets talk about the body of the HD, it covered with full black polished plastic which unfortunately welcomes all finger prints and scraches right after unboxing(buying a hard case is a must)
The silver frame around the display i think is metal cause it feels cold when you touch it.
Anyways, it so rock solid phone, you wont hear any clatter when you push it hard.
HD is a kind of phone i would recommend to guys which have some experience with symbian phones and they're familiar with pros or cons of this OS ...

The files are called - PowerDicGlobal and when i try to delete, it says unable to delete! They have an orange lightning type line through the icon for them.

Hi everyone, can someone please help me. I have about 7 or 8 files which have appeared in my gallery which I have no idea what they are, they all have the same name (something weird) and it won't let me delete them! Has anyone else faced this issue ? What does it mean ? Any solutions at all ? Thanks.

hi hamid!is there any better symbian interface for touch?!it's not good!double click to open,can not change pages with your finger movement or move down.you know the os is poor for touch!is there any update 2 improve it?!thnx a lot!
