check out this, or search it up through GSM search facility. Personally I am very impressed with the battery. Right now I am using UC browser, it doesn't always work that great but it has a night mode, so this dims the screen to a black background. ..which saves loads of battery imo. It also has a setting for landscape mode (which I prefer) so that way I can turn off the auto rotation senser, and it has a data saving mode. So in my opinion with screen filter also installed, I can get more than the statistics, and those also pasted above. Great phone, I got mine a few months back.

Hey, does anyone know if Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 will be an official update through Kies with the latest version of Kies installed, if so what date will it be released I'm from South Africa. If its not I watched a video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLXQn0gOBuA) installing an official version of 2.3.4 using Odin. In the video he mentioned that we are going to flash the update onto the i9000. Does your phone need to be rooted in order for you to "flash" it. Im considering doing this if it wont be available via Kies. If something goes wrong during the installation of the new OS what do I do if my phone does not boot up or becomes "bricked" or freezes during the installation progress? How do I fix the problem if this does happen and the phone becomes unresponsive. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks!!

Try taking other videos and checking.... if you are still getting that result try calling someone and ask if they are able to hear you clearly .... if they say that it is not clear then probably you have a faulty microphone.... if all else fails then have it shown to a samsung service centre.... they should sort the problem out :D

AnonD-23167, 22 Sep 2011Rooted and non-Rooted... What the different?? What for? @ Ronald Sum

The default android device is locked in such a way that you do not get absolute control over your device. Rooting kinda gives you Godlike powers for your phone enabling you to perform tasks which you would ordinarily would not be able to do (like overclocking or under-clocking your phone, backing up of applications, etc).

But as a new user i would not recommend you try it without being absolutely sure how to do it.

Thats a bit wierd .... i think it is a problem with the settings in your media player.

Try downloading Mobo media player... it is AWESOME and free and plays every type of formal perfectly.Try using the default setting and playing some other files n see if the sound is still lie it is cracking.

As per my knowledge the graphics processor of the Galaxy s keeps a part of the ram permanently occupied, so although the Ram is 512 MB it occupies 183 MB for its proper functioning.

The ROM is for installing the Apps on your phone. Separate Partitions were made for faster processing of the applications as there would be one partition only for the apps for faster loading and 2 GB is more than enough for any apps your throw at the phone. For high memory games like asphalt 6... the additional data is stored on the external storage... it is good because in the even you need to flash your phone or install new software all the application data and external storage remains intact while all the apps are deleted.(atleast thats my theory on the topic).

I must say that the JVS (2.3.5) is a worthwhile upgrade to JV9 (2.3.3) and yes it does include daily briefing and they finally removed Layar from the list of system apps :P

The battery is better than ever ... at this point my battery shows 60% left after 1 day 9 hours and 40 mins of mediocre usage.... and although high resource demanding apps will drain the batter very fast, on standby we are talking about 0.5 to 1% per hour :D

The firmware is more fluid and faster than ever and i get quadrant scores of at least 1300 whenever i test my phone. The Ram is showing the same 329 MB but i think it is used in a better manner now then before.

The Gmail and the Android Market apps have also been upgraded... Although i have not used the Gmail app yet i have read on several forums that is working better than ever... and the newer version of Android Market is AWESOME... super-fast and fluid, no lags whatsoever.

The WIFI seems to work normally(maybe even better) and the GPS seems to get the location more quickly(at least i think it is faster now)...

Thats about it ... i'll keep you posted if i find something new :P
